A warm, cozy place for the two of us.

- originally supposed to be a male reader but i decided heck with it so i tried my best to write this in a gender neutral tone"Right there!" Lexi exclaimed excitedly, squirming in her seat, being jumpy. I couldn't help but chuckle at her actions. She looked so adorable it made my heart melt.
Turning the steering wheel, I pulled into the parking lot of a small diner that Lexi found on her phone. Apparently, it was a waffle house. Upon parking the car and turning the engine off, both of our stomachs grumbled lowly and we both laughed. "Told ya I was hungry." Lexi lightly pushed my elbow. "You can say that again." I replied, both of us chuckling and unbuckling our seatbelts.
We walked into the waffle house, hand in hand with silly smiles plastered on our faces, and sat down at our booth. We started taking off our heavy coats before officially settling down. It was so damn cold in [insert the name of a place here]. But hey, the sites were beautiful.
We took our orders, getting some hot drinks to warm us up. When looking around the place, I noticed that there were only a few people around which made sense. It was pretty early in the morning too.
I snapped out of my thoughts by my beloved across from me who was desperately trying to get my attention while being jittery. "Hey! Look at meee!" She stretched her arms across the table and tapped on it, making me whip my head towards her direction.
Lexi giggled at me and began striking up a conversation with me, starting off really casual and then drifting off as we usually do. I loved when she went off on random rants and talked about anything. She's the cutest thing ever and I would never trade her for anything.
Lexi ended up calming herself down and becoming less jumpy. But I knew that would probably change once we got our food. We continued laughing and teasing each other as we got our drinks and a basket of bread.
"But it's true though!" Lexi interjected, crossing her arms. I let out a sigh and shook my head at her. I tried to be serious but I had a clear grin across my face. "You aren't cut out for this." "Yeah, I know bubs." I said, buttering some bread and putting it on a plate, handing it to the one and only across from me.
"Thank you." She said under her breath happily as she took a bite of the piece. I'm so glad she's doing better out of Highlands and especially with me. As we finished up eating the bread, we calmed down and became silent. We ended up reaching our arms to the middle of the table and held our hands, staring into each other's eyes.
"You're beautiful." I whispered to her. Lexi grinned at me, her cheeks stained with pink. Despite the atmosphere being so cold, she kept my heart warm and I promised to keep that smile spread across her face.
