That night proved sleepless for the great tycoon, Wang Yibo. He tried his best to doze off somehow but only to get startled whenever he closed his eyes as either Zhan's face started showing or Xuan's words played as a repeat telecast.
He sighed frustratedly and sat up, thinking hard about what he should do next. Hence, the night spent peacefully with him awake like a ghost whole night, running his eyes here and there on bed, imagining Zhan sitting or laying there with his frightful expression.
His hands clenched into fist when he raised it to touch Zhan's scared face but got nothing like air. His senses return with lost anger and furiousness.
Getting up, he straightened his clothes before sighting the alarm clock at a straight glance and found it was 4 : 38 am in the early morning. Picking his car keys, he exited his mansion, going straight to his secret place. Parking his car nearby, his speedy steps halted directly in front of Xuan's cell, surprising every single soul there.
Many even contemplated Xuan's early death but their Boss amused them as well as Xuan who was awake from Yibo's single call. Looking sleepily at his elder brother, Xuan assumed either he was there to kill him or to ask him about Zhan's whereabouts.
Wang Yibo stared deeply into the latter's orbs, trying to pierce his soul to examine his sincerity. Xuan couldn't hold it for long and hence yawned before stating lowly,
"Don't penetrate me through your eyes. Just say what you're here for...(mumbling) even though I know...."
Although the words were unclear, Yibo's sharp ears heard them well. With a raised brow, he asked straightforwardly,
"Tell me.."
"(Confusedly) What?"
"Didn't you say that you know the reason behind my appearance here? Then tell me."
"Of course I know. It's easy coz u r not a fan of meeting your step brother. So either u r here to end my life coz I damage your reputation by helping Zhan or by forcing me to tell u about Zhan's whereabouts."
Xuan said as a matter of fact and looked down. His expressions were of tired one and a little hurt maybe...Yibo thought and smirked in mid way, saying something which he was sure, will attract latter's attention,
"What if I say I am here for neither of your reasons?"
"(Looking down, saying indifferently) So what? If not for ending my life or asking about Zhan, then you would be here making life hell. But it's okay..I deserve it anyway. I hurt you, my very own brother and deserve punishment..."
Wang Yibo was quite amused seeing Xuan's side where he was sulking on his own for doing something punishable, just like a kid. In a soft tone, he asked,
"I'm wondering now why you even did that if that was opposite to your liking? Zhan forced you?"
Even though Yibo knew Zhan could never forced someone but still asked just to check Xuan's expression which really was funny as he panicked while retorting,
"No! He didn't force me! He is not that type of person..."
"Then?"
"It's just, he was desperate to leave your mansion and really wanted to get his freedom back like we all wanna do whenever someone tries to cage us. Being his childhood bestie, if I hadn't helped him then, I would always live with a heavy burden of regret and guilt which would have never been lessened until my death."
"So u really care for him?"
"(Nodding) I do...He is the only one who had befriended a person like me who was living in a slum at that time. Not only befriended but shared everything with me. He believed from childhood that he is a timid person but never for once stepped back whenever someone picked a fight with me. He will go hungry, get beaten, get bullied but never feel tired of staying with me or fighting back for me.
He might be a fool, coward or dumb in other's eyes but for me, he is really strong, true and my best friend and will always be. Even if you take my life, I won't protest. Firstly u r my brother and have right, secondly I know I am wrong and thirdly, I love my friend's happiness more than my sorrowful life. I'm really sorry to disappoint you.."
"Alright...I understand. Now listen carefully, firstly, I am not here for torturing you or for harming you in any way. Neither I will ask about Zhan's hiding nor force u to speak up. I'm here to inform you that you will be given a chance to be my brother and get all those which you have wished for."
Xuan was shocked and like a severe bolt, his eyes lifted to meet his brother's, confirming if whatever he heard just a sec ago was the truth or another lie. But when he found his brother's emotionless gaze, he said in a dismay,
"So now, u r trying to buy my honesty? After clearly telling you how much Zhan meant to me, seriously? What do you think, can you manipulate me? I'm really really disappointed in you.."
"Listen first before making any type of conclusion. I never said...u assumed it all! That's how you think of me in your heart?"
"No-No! I'm sorry-I'm sorry! I over-thought! You can continue..."
"So the thing is, I will give u an opportunity to prove urself my brother by doing everything as per my instruction. If you succeed, I will accept you as my family, my little brother. And for this, you don't have to tell me anything about Zhan."
"(Excitedly) Really? Can I...I mean is it for real? I would be able to call you Gege? You will also call me Didi, right? Am I dreaming?"
"(Smiling) It's true...you're not dreaming."
"(Fisting his fist in air) Yes! ... Thank you Gege! Really thank you so much for providing me such a wonderful opportunity.. I will surely prove myself capable as ur brother...(thinking something) But..what about Zhan? What will you do to him?"
"I will get him either in some days, weeks or years but he will be in my mansion, under my control soon..that's his written fate which has been written especially by me!"
"(Shocked as hell) please! Don't do this! Don't cage him Ge! He loves his freedom more than anything. Please don't snatch it from him..please Ge! Let him go..."
Xuan pleaded while getting on his knees, with head bowed. Yibo said indifferently,
"Don't insult me likewise didi. I know you care for Zhan but understand my condition as well. I'm in love."
"(Looking up all of a sudden in shock)"
"Yes, I am in love with Zhan which is more like an unending obsession for me and only he is my cure. I don't know how but he has become my habit for the very first time I have laid my eyes on him.
He gave me an unknown feeling which says he is mine. I can't help but to fall deep for him with each and every sec. And that's why, It's necessary for me to capture him, whether he likes it or not."
"I-I'm not understanding anything Ge! But whatever you're thinking of doing is certainly not right."
"I know but I can't help it. You have to be here till I find him back. After getting him once, you will be free and can use your opportunity. And about Zhan, he can have his freedom, his rights, his everything till it is not concerned with him getting away from me, leaving me or getting divorce with me. I will fulfil his every wish if that makes him happy but not in my life, I would give him freedom to run away from me."
"A-are u sure..u would give him time to accept u?"
"Yes. If he does not try to run away, I will give him time till I die..just in hope of getting accepted by him."
"Okay then, I'm ready..but make sure to keep your words.."
"Sure..that's my promise."
Saying that, Yibo went out of the prison, dialling Jack's number with a smirk while leaving Xuan thinking about the decision in depth.
