We'll Meet Again

"30:00 Starting countdown" A robotic voice echoed throughout the room.

"We failed..." I mumbled

"No we didn't. We just have the unfortunate fate of dying for completing the mission." My partner said beside me.

I sat down on the floor accepting our fate the exits had all been blocked with large rocks. We had tried to move it but it was no use we were trapped and with no way to call for backup since our devices had been shattered in our fight with the mad scientist. We were deep underground so there was no way anyone could know what was wrong. Although they might've have noticed that we were gone for too long.

Lesley sat down beside me and wrapped her arms around her legs and buried her face into them. I twirled my dagger in my hands as I looked at the woman I had slowly fallen in love with. I didn't have the courage to tell her how I really felt, but now it was different.

I had to tell her.

"Lesley?" I called getting her attention

She looked up with a tear stained face leaving me shocked, my heart throbbed. She had rarely shown these types of emotions to anyone.

"What?"

"Why are you crying?" I asked

"One we're going to die. Two I'm worried about Harley. He won't have someone to look after him once I'm gone." She sniffed and gave me a bitter smile as she wiped her tears.

"You're still worrying about him even when you're about to die?"

"Of course he's my precious little brother." She scoffed

She talked about her brother for a while until the same robotic voice announced that there were 20 minutes left till their ultimate demise.

I sighed "Hey Lesley?"

"Yeah?"

"I like you." I blurted out

She looked at me shocked "What?"

"I like you." I repeated a hand reached out to caress her face.

She slapped my hand away "Idiot..." she mumbled her face flushing "Why now?" Her voice trembled as she spoke "Why confess when we're about to die?"

"I'm sorry I was such a coward." I admitted sheepishly. I peeked at her face that was flushed but otherwise unreadable.

"Do you mean that?" She finally answered her voice barley a whisper.

"Yes, I do. What about you?" I asked.

"You don't know how much I've wanted to hear you say that." She mumbled wiping her tears.

"So does that mean?" I asked excitedly

She nodded "Yes I like you too."

I leaned in with the intent to kiss her but just as our lips got close.

"15:00" The robotic voice reminded us ruining our moment.

I groaned "Damn that voice is seriously getting on my nerves."

Lesley chuckled "Yeah I know."

Not wasting any more time I pulled her closer to me and kissed her. We made out for a while even ignoring when the robotic voice announced that there were only 10 minutes left before the place was wiped from existence.

Eventually we stopped but we continued to cuddle as we talked about random things.

"Hey Gusion?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you believe in reincarnation?" She asked snuggling into my chest

I paused for a moment. "I don't know."

"Say if there was reincarnation. Would we both meet again?" She looked into my eyes awaiting my response

"1:00"

We both jolted as the robotic voice startled us.

"Already?" I sighed

"0:45"

"Gusion..."

"0:30"

"Lesley." I smiled as I hugged her

"0:15"

"Don't worry we'll meet again."

"5"

She smiled "I love you."

"4"

"I love you too"

"3"

We leaned in to share one last kiss

"2"

Our lips touched as the countdown reached 1 second

"0"

A blinding light flooded the area engulfing the two lovers who would soon meet again.

No One's P.O.V.

A tear slipped down her porcelain face.

"Lunox like you always say balance is the only truth." A bird like creature with a whip flew down and landed beside the twilight goddess folding his wings.

"Their fates are so sad." The blonde with a streak of black in her hair said "But their love is always so wonderful."

Kaja shrugged "I do not comprehend those sort of feelings."

"Maybe their next life will be better." Another bird came flapping in joining the two's conversation. He had a large staff with a clock in the middle.

Lunox nodded "Their love is enternal."

A/N: I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote this lol. Ideas always hits me when I'm tired af and then I can't find a good ending ;v;
