3rd Person POV;
That fateful grassland that the fight took place above flourished beautifully. What was previously a flat plane now boasted lush tall grass that glimmered with the morning dew.

The tall blades of grass grew idly, home to many small critters and creatures. A perfect soft and comfy cover for the deadly battle that took place over a century ago. The New World that was brimming with human life was now a no mans land. All that was alive here were the various animals, insects and idle beasts that fell under the rule of the new king of the world; dragons.

The large tree, Yggdrasil, that adopted its name from the heart piece that gave it life was home to the strongest of the dragons. At the very top was Bahamut, the legendary summon of a now slumbering Goddess. The trees roots stretched continents, bringing life to everything it touched.

An untainted land, free of human filth. Everything that the Goddess had wanted; a world free from humans. A world where beasts were free to be, with no need to fear being hunted down or of being outcast.

A beautiful world that she would never be able to see, for she will forever be tucked safely into the center of Yggdrasil, cradling the Heart Piece that fell the entire New World.

Wild flowers littered the base of Yggdrasil. Bahamut was perched at the top of Yggdrasil, soaking in the rising sun's heat and enjoying the faint thrum of the low hum the Heart Piece emitted. He watched as the Lance that was struck to the base of Yggdrasil began to catch the growing light, casting a long shadow across the roots and grass.

The light caught on its still perfectly smooth handle shot out, redirecting itself and illuminated the grasslands, bathing it in a cool light. It was only during this specific time of day when the Lance illuminated the ground could Bahamut envision the bodies of his fallen friends and ruler.

It was here, at the base of Yggdrasil where the entirety of Nazarick was laid to rest. Even those who thought themselves impervious to death through immortality met their end here. Bahamut had always thought that their faces looked the most at peace here than compared to the entirety of his time knowing them when they were still alive.

As usual, Bahamut sent out a silent speech and prayer to his fallen comrades of Nazarick. Bowing his head once to everyone and a second time to the skeletal remains, he rose to his feet and retreated back into the maze of branches that lead to the different worlds as well the inner tunnels and chambers of Yggdrasil.

His feet carried him to the Heart of Yggdrasil, his mind wondering on his way there as he passed by other dragons on his way. The Heart chamber of Yggdrasil was grand. Walls that rose high above with sunlight filtering in through the top of the room. He slowed his pace as he approached the centre of the Heart where his summoner laid asleep.

Here in this room the thrum of the Heart Piece vibrated stronger, little waves were constantly sent through Bahamut's body from his feet, leaving him almost numb to the core. He stared into the soft emerald green light that the Heart Piece emitted before turning his eyes towards the Goddess. He closed his eyes and sent a silent greeting to her, bowing his head and softly nuzzling her cheek, before respectfully retreating out of the room.

By the time he had reached the main room to Yggdrasil, a small squad of other dragons had already gathered. It was his assigned squad for the day. As he entered the main chamber, a few dragons were leaving, they dipped their head towards him before heading back into the tunnels towards their sleeping chambers.

It was time for the patrol shift. The gathered group was distinctly separated into two groups. One would guard the current room they were in and the other would follow him out into the world for exploration, hunting and conquering. The group that stayed behind to guard the main chamber was significantly larger. The main chamber was the single point where all worlds that Yggdrasil connected met, it only made sense that the place was heavily guarded.

With one last look at the group that would follow him for the day, he cast a long glance to the side. The light from the sun was no longer bouncing off the Lance, it was well into the morning by now. He inhaled the fresh cold air that slightly tingled his nose before nodding back at his group.

With a strong beat of his wings, he shot up into the air with the other dragons following suit. They were so close to fulfilling their summoner's wish and they were not going to stop until they did. Just as the same as the days before, Bahamut led his squadron of dragons with a single thought in his mind.

To eliminate the last remaining humans alive.
