Drakiania's POV;
I was sitting in the main room of the Sacrarium, the bustle of the dragon's outside in the outer courts of the sanctuary were hushed in here. I sipped the tea that was served to me and dismissed the dragons who acted as the servers in the Sacrarium. But that didn't mean they were weak at all, in fact I don't have any low-tier summons so they were all about level 60. The steam from the cup rose as I followed it up with my eyes to lay them on Ains who I had invited here.The Mirror was deactivated in front of us, we had intentions to watch how the proceedings went, but our motives for doing so were different. For Ains, it was to see to the utmost success of the recapture of the human girl, for me it was to see just how far the butler has fallen. Ever since the whole human slave accident, I've found myself losing more and more faith in the once trustworthy butler, which led into the reason why I had invited Ains here in the seclusion of the Sacrarium instead of the way we usually did things; in his office.
With the amount of security here, I wasn't worried about any servants listening in and should this result in a fight, no guardian would be caught in the cross fire and have to choose between masters. That would just be unfair to them.
I studied Ains, ever since he became a skeletal undead, he has become harder and harder to read than when he was Satoru. He was absorbed in his paperwork, a peaceful silence had settled, the birds in the Sacrarium filled the silence by peppering in chirps and birdsong. With a rather loud, resounding clank, I placed my teacup down with some force, attracting Ains' attention.
"Ains. I think it's time we talked about that human. And just how many fundamental rules of the Tomb you have broken." He looked up in what I could only guess was surprise. I have never been one to talk back and rebut the guild master's choices, in fact in some meetings I have ever been the only one to stand by his choice, simply out of blind faith and loyalty. So to see me standing up to his choice so blatantly was a shock to say the least, he has never been met with so much resistance from me before.
His reply was a simple; "There is nothing to talk about, she's a servant of Nazarick now." He looked back towards his papers again, but I was quick to refute. "On the contrary, there is much to discuss about this. Must I remind you again that she is a human, from the species that has not been welcomed into the confines of the Tomb ever since the Original Ten?" I had Ains' full attention now, I narrowed my eyes at him in a dangerous stare, "Or perhaps, in the conquest for World Domination have you forgotten the fundamental rules for our home?" This was a challenge set right in his face, challenging his authority and choices, with no disguises and no hidden strings.
"Of course I have not-" I swiftly brought my fist down on the table, rattling the tea cup and slightly spilling the contents, "Then why is there a human being counted in our close ranks? Set to walk about our halls as if one of our own?"
Ains let out a sigh, holding his head, "Please, Drakiania, the girl is useful and besides, I have a debt to repay to her younger sister." I raised my head in defiance, "And you have, the debt is fulfilled, you have let her live. And you and I both know full well that there is nothing useful about being able to cook stewed potatoes." The ghosts of embers were starting to light up the space between us now, "What Demiurge said is indeed correct, though he may have not said it directly, he meant the same thing; the girl has NO place in Nazarick!"
"The diary we got gave us a lot of information Draki-Chan, surely you don't think that is useless now?" I clicked my tongue in annoyance, "That diary gave us information sure," Ains looked proud that he made me admit some defeat, "But, it had nearly nothing useful in the grand scheme of things. The pathetic girl didn't even know the name of the dragon that could cause natural disasters, she just spewed nonsense based on rumours and countless exaggerations! For all we know the grasp of this world that we got from the diary could be inaccurate too!"
