Your POV

As we pulled into Seattle Grace Mercy West, I started to get nervous, hoping Jo was okay. I didn't want anything to happen to her. Hopefully I'd made it on time. I had a bad feeling about why she paged me. Arizona and I ran through the halls to an on-call room where Jo paged me from. We could hear muffled sounds through the door as Arizona tried to open it.

"It's locked!"

"Jo! Are you in there?" I yelled to her. There was no one in this part of the hospital so I didn't care who heard us but when I heard the noises get louder, I knew for a fact Jo was in there and my stomach dropped.

"Arizona, go get security. I'm going to kick the door down." She hesitated for a moment before running through the hospital again. Nothing mattered but helping Jo as I kicked down the door. The first kick wasn't strong enough, but the second one broke the door off the hinges. I rushed into the room and saw a man on top of Jo choking her.

As I ripped him off of Jo he pushed me to the ground. I heard a loud cracking noise as I hit my head and immediately felt pressure. The last thing I heard was Jo yelling my name before everything went black.

...

Sound started to fade by into my ears as I woke up in the hospital. I had no idea how long it had been since my head hit the ground.

"What happened to my daughter?" I heard my mom question. I couldn't see her yet but there was no mistaking her voice. I'd only heard it my entire life.

"She was trying to protect me when my attacker threw her on the ground. She hit her head really hard on the floor." Jo sounded like she was crying as she talked to my mother and recounted the events. I did remember what happened which was a good sign.

"Guy, please. She's awake." Uncle Derek faded into view as he gave me instructions as he examined my neurological state. In my own medical opinion, I was doing okay but my head was absolutely throbbing. There was definitely some sort of trauma physically but hopefully not cognitively. Although maybe I wasn't the best judge considering I was the one in the hospital bed. Maybe I was though considering all the thoughts I was having.

"Y/n you have a deep laceration on the back of your head that we were able to repair with a few stitches, but your neuro exam looks good. I'm going to have Amy come in and double check just to be sure but I'm confident that you're okay kiddo."

"It's a good thing I've always wanted an undercut. Hopefully it's salvageable with the hack job you guys gave me." I joked. Uncle Derek rolled his eyes at me as he placed his light in his coat pocket.

"I'll have you know we took off as little hair as possible and it is quite even. I may not be a barber, but I know how to use clippers." He squeezed my hand as he left the room with mom in toe. She no doubt wanted to pick his brain and make sure I was really okay. I could see guilt written all over Jo's face as she took a cautious step closer to my bed.

"Y/n, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for this to happen when I paged you. I just didn't know who else to call." Jo stammered out. There were tears falling down her face.

"Jo, he could've killed you. Don't apologize, I'm okay. Where's Ar- uh Dr. Robbins?" Jo wiped her tears away and took my hand. I could see dark rings forming on her neck from where his hands had been.

Any later she might not have been standing in front of me.

"She got pulled into some surgery. Oh my god, you had a date tonight! I completely forgot. I didn't mean to interrupt."

"You had a date tonight? With whom?" Mom questioned as she reentered the room with Uncle Derek.
