The War is Over.

I was silently weeping as I mustered all the strength I possibly could. I saw Valkon give me his sorry face before he pulled the trigger.

It was like the world stopped— no. It slowed down in that instant. The world around me was so silent and I felt like I was one with the air for a split second.

But that was before.
Before something hot entered my body. Before I felt the heat turn into ooze. Before I felt the wind get knocked out of me.

How I ended up in front of my blue eyed savior? I don't know. But I did know that I was happy.

Happy he didn't take that bullet. Happy because I knew what would happen. Happy because he was still breathing.

But I knew that I wouldn't be after a while. I couldn't hear anything. I could only see.

See the swirls in the air; see the lightning striking nearby; see the look in my Alpha's eyes; see the emotion he was scared to let go of; see the disbelief on his face.

But that was enough. I couldn't stand the liquidy heat in my body any longer. I dropped my knees and that's when the world began to spin again. That's when I could hear and see and feel everything clearly.

Clear enough to know that I singlehandedly stopped a war because there was no movement. None. At all. The only thing you could hear were the lightning, the crackles in the air, and the thunderous heartbeats of any living creature in the area.

And then I heard footsteps. The footsteps of the one who almost killed my Alpha. The one who kidnapped me. The one who I came to love. The one who rushed over at light speed because I'd just been shot.

Shot with his gun.

I gasped, "I can't breathe." I hiccuped as I grasped the dead grass around me.

"I'm so sorry, Wolfie. Why did you do that? Why would you take a bullet for someone? You should be asleep," Valkon shouted. "You should be asleep."

He fell to the ground and placed his hands atop of mine. He brung them to his chest before wiping the tears I didn't knew existed off of my face. He leaned in to see my face and I saw the emotional hurricane displayed in his colorful eyes as they changed rapidly like the rainbow. Every color, every shade, every blend— it was there.

I joked in short breaths, "Well," breath, "I'll be," gasp, "asleep again in," breath, "a little while."

I added, "But permanently this time."

I no longer felt the need to spasm.

"There's no way you made it there. You shouldn't have been able to get there," Val cried, "You shouldn't have any powers at all. How did you do it? Why did you do it?"

I heard a feral growl. "No. Don't," I begged.
"This is all your fault," Elias yelled. "You fucking idiot. Look at her. Look what you did."

Elias grabbed Valkon and shook him violently before moving his hands away from me. And that's when I saw the real Elias.. a part of him that I'd never seen before, but a part of him that I got a glimpse of once.

"Do you remember that time you and I took a trip? We talked about your old house, the one that you thought you should sell, and you looked exactly like this. You looked like you'd lost something and I never pushed you. I just knew. I always knew. I knew you were hiding it. And now you're looking at me with those ocean eyes and I can't help but to smile," I gave him the most genuine, brightest smile. "Because you never let me see you like this. You're looking at me as if you're going to lose me, but your house is covered with pictures of me. I'll be etched into your memory. There's no way you'd lose me."

"Don't talk like that," Elias whimpered. "Get me a damn medic!" He snapped.

The people started to move again. They dropped their weapons and I heard people stumble; the shouts of mourning or the cries of disbelief; the wavers of the thousands surrounding me.

I heard running and the heavy steps and clashing of metallic objects. Must be the medic.

Thunder rumbled throughout the dark skies as the black clouds moved inward. Lightning struck the ground randomly but with an immovable passion. It was like it had a vendetta.

The flashes of blue and white swirls became one body of mixed smoke in midair. And from there, I was amazed.

My vision was beginning to get blurry, but I walked myself to keep my eyes open because my nerves began to tingle. Tingling meant something fascinating was about to happen. If it was to be my last moment, I wanted to see something captivating.

Soon, Evie came into view and sat down beside me with my arm in her lap as she wept for me while simultaneously watching the mysterious body of smoke and swirls.

Her voice was caught in her throat, but mine wasn't. My vision may have been blurry but I was sure of what I was seeing.

"It's you," I said.

"Granny!?" exclaimed Evie.
"Granny?" I was confused. "That can't be your granny. That's the lady from my dreams."

"The lady from your dreams? What are you saying? That is my Granny Aurora. Aurora flippin Phoenix! The legend," Evie said.

She was still dressed in her white lace as her blonde hair blew with the breeze. Her porcelain skin exuded power and I somehow felt that she was more than just the lady in my dreams. She felt like an old acquaintance.. like a dear friend.

"My friend," I said without noticing. I shut my mouth immediately after. Aurora's eyes gleamed with happiness while Evie gave me the most puzzled look I'd ever seen. I just gave her a shy smile.

"What a mess!" I knew whose voice that was before even seeing that person emerge. I could tell she was angry by the lightning and thunder still carrying on.

"Oh, quit being a big baby," Aurora rolled her eyes.
"I have you know! This is a mess, Aurora," she lambasted.

I saw the golden-bronze, blue painted fingertips emerge from the smoke. And I chuckled. Who else could it possibly be?

The royal blue gown with the silk at the bottom was first to emerge from her side of the mixed smoke.

"I missed you, Selene," I said.

Her eyes were completely white with rage. "What the hell!? I leave you alone for five minutes and this happens. You damn Dracula!" She cursed Valkon.

Everyone that was a werewolf bowed in her presence. "You may lift your heads," she commanded.

"Tut-tut," Selene clicked her tongue. "Look at what you've gotten yourself into. Dying in a place like this? How? Why!?"

"Oh. You're happy for her so quit acting like you're not," Aurora ridiculed her.

As they walked up to me, everyone around me moved away.

"You did good, my old friend," Aurora spoke unto me. "You did it better than I could have ever." She gave my body a once over before making my body float. She placed her thumb in the center of my forehead before mumbling words I didn't understand.

"Ceá, doeth unto thee, opléé, faça, dupra!" She repeated this action three times before removing her thumb. She waited a second before planting a kiss in the same spot.

I was floating, but if I were to be standing, I'd be rotted to the ground. It felt like a great honor to be bestowed with a kiss from a legend.

Selene stepped forward and wiggled her fingers with closed eyes while singing a hymn. I didn't understand those words either, but I felt the ooze leaving my body. I was regaining my energy.

But then, I felt that ominous presence again.

"Danger," I choked out.
Selene stopped at once to survey our surroundings. Then.. that woman emerged.
