An Unlikely Partnership~Tododeku

5~ Clues and Blues

"Get the other group to keep watch outside while we're in there. Let's go investigate what's inside that building." Todoroki spoke with such authority, that everyone turned their heads and even Bakugou seemed a little taken aback.

"Well? Let's get started?!"

The team nodded. The hunt had only just begun, but they had a lead now. Only thing was, they didn't know what to do if there wasn't anything here.

Upon re-entering the building, the atmosphere seemed to be a lot lighter and cheerful, not so much of a dangerous, dark and creepy feeling.

No one said a word, but each had the same goal in their mind. Find whatever is here. Keep this information a secret, and stop Black and White from achieving whatever their ultimate goal was.

Soon they had arrived back at the spot where Midoriya and Todoroki had fought the villains earlier. This time, the didn't fall through the floor. What the pair hadn't noticed earlier was that there was a set of stairs leading out from the room. 

That must have been how the others escaped. It was very possible. In that split second that Todoroki had created the ice, the icy air had fogged up for a second which probably gave them the possible window to escape before they got caught.

Bakugou crouched down. "It looks like they had only just got here before we got here judging by the footprints."

Bakugou was an excellent detective as well as a hero. He could tell the difference between a ten minute old footprint and a ten minute and eleven second footprint.

"Judging in the way your ice froze the footprints, they'd only just got there too, maybe two or three minuted before. It doesn't look like they've taken anything or started searching."

Midoriya nodded slowly.

"Katsuki... If they were searching for something, and they did need to dig, where's the equipment? They must have taken it with them." Kirishima stepped towards the blond hero and put his hand on Bakugou's shoulder. 

Then Midoriya had an idea. "Guys, remember the riddle? The first line where it says 'Beneath the ground in a place of old,' it must be talking about here. This building. This room. Kacchan. Can't you tell that this room is a lot older than the one's above ground upstairs?"

Bakugou stood up from his crouched postition and walked over to the wall. The was was made of stone blocks, unlike the rooms upstairs which were made of something like bricks. "You're right. The answer must be in this room somewhere. If not and we've got it all wrong, then  it's all over. But we can't risk leaving here and the clue actually being here."

"We'll search the room. If there is nothing here, we'll figure out what to do from there. We will win this fight, there's no space for no as an answer. The only option is to win. Midoriya. Bakugou. Kirishima. Let's do this. No matter the cost. We. Will. Win." 

Midoriya smiled. He didn't get to see Todoroki change over the years. It was nice to see how his friend had developed into such a great person. "When this is all over, I am so taking you guys and finding the rest of our old class and kidnapping you so we can all hang out."

They burst out laughing, forgetting about their past and present troubles for a second.

"Since there's nothing in the room, all we can do is check the stones and flooring for anything."

"Obviously! What made you think I was dumb, dumb hair!?"

"I love you too!"

"Guys! Stop fighting! You guys are acting like an old married couple!"
