Cloudy Skies

Chapter 1

I wake from a cold sweat at night, probably around 3 am, I had gotten used to this by now from the constant nightmares that follow me like a bad smell. I had moved to a new school at the end of last year, hoping to get away from my bullies and bad friends. But even after I moved, I kept having dreams of my old bullies and what they had done to me. The physical and mental trauma I had gone through and after I finally convinced mum to let us move after she had gotten a promotion from her job and to a new town.

After going and getting a drink, I laid my head back on the pillow trying to forget what got me up in the first place, so I could fall asleep and dread going to school the next day.

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep...

My phone alarm going off signalling a new day at a new school "fun" I roll my eyes sarcastically and lay down again, only to be wakened up by my mum throwing some clothes at me and telling me "get ready and be down in 10". I roll off the side of my bed and get up to go to the shower in my room. after 5 minutes in the shower humming some tunes and such I get out and wash my fur and blow-dry it so I'm puffy and ready for the day. I put on some briefs and a pair of black shorts with a black shirt with a popular logo on it. I slip on some socks and put my shoes on before spraying some lynx spray on to get rid of any bad body odours. After that I head downstairs to be greeted by my mum and 2 pieces of toast with butter on them "Thanks I'm starving." she smiles and says, "c'mon your gonna be late for school and I'll be late for work." I roll my eyes and eat my breakfast. before going I grab my bag and phone and start walking to school.

When I get to the front gate I sigh, knowing that this school will probably be like my old school and will be bullied on the first day by a snarky jock. I take a step forward and bump into a few other furs, after stumbling back and nearly losing my balance. "I'm so sorry please it was an accident don't hurt me." I manage to say before they do anything, only to be met with a handshake and a smile "Nah don't be it's fine." says a female wolf with what looks to be ram horns. "I'm Toxic and this is Jake." replied Toxic followed by Jake "nice to meet you." he smiles "I'm Rad and I'm new, but uhh I kind of have to go sign in at the admin and get a locker." I say while running off "nice to meet you." they yell, and I yell back "see you later Toxic and Jake." with that I start running into the school hoping to get a locker and put my stuff in before I'm late for class.

Before I realize I run into someone and fall back looking up to see a big tall fur that looks to be a jock, I then get the remember my old school and curl up into a ball on the ground, And start saying "sorry." over and over again followed by "please don't hurt me." and "it was an accident." then I feel my body being picked up, thinking the worst, I ball up even tighter, tears start falling down my eyes and I hear him speak " shh it's okay I'm not gonna hurt ya buddy" but I all I heard was "hurt" and I start crying, even more, bracing for impact.

I then hear furs moving about and the fur carrying me in my arms start running through the school and out the doors to a field and the back of the school building. I then fell my body being placed down against the wall and onto the grassy field. He then sits down next to me and lays my head on his lap before rubbing my head. I start to feel calm and look up to him with a worried smile across his face "are you alright u bumped into me then started crying and sobbing so I took you outside to get some air and calm u down." he says trying to comfort me. "you're not gonna hurt me even though I knocking to you" I said before hearing a hush and him saying "Its fine, your new here aren't you." I nod my head whilst still being in his lap. "so uhh if you don't mind me asking but, what was that in the hall back there." he asks while looking down at me. "I used to be bullied by a jock back at my old school, for coming ou..." I quickly shut my mouth before saying anything else and blushing. "its fine I'm not gonna bully you and your secrets safe with me." as he says that his I feel a wave of relief knowing I'm not gonna have a repeat of the past and be bullied again. As I go to sit up my back starts to hurt, and I yip in pain. " I feel my back and touched over my old scar. "what's wrong," he says. I lift my shirt a little for him to run his paw over my old scar and say, "what happens it's you don't mind me asking." "I got a pencil shoved in my back and dragged up by the bullies in my old school." I say as I pull my shirt back down and looking at the time on my watch "shit I have to get my locker." he gets up quickly and pulls me up with him and into his chest by accident, I blush a bit but cover it with my paws and start walking with him to the admin office.

By the time we get there, we have 15 minutes till home class starts. I sign in quickly and get my locker key and make my way down to my locker and notice it near the wolf I was with. "oh cool your next to me, oh and I forgot to tell you my name, its Zane." he said as I put my books and other stuff I don't need in the locker I turn to him and say "I'm Rad, sorry for this morning I probably made you late and I don't even know where my classes are yet" I frown and look at my schedule and he asks to see it " cool you share home class with me, cooking and gym." as we turn down the hall and arrive to class just in time, I spot Toxic and Jake and sit down next to them and Zane sits down next to me and class begins.
