Cloudy Skies

Chapter 19

After I playfully push Zane onto the bed, he pulled me into a hug and pulled my chin up so our lips met. his arms rubbing my back as we pull out of the kiss, our saliva connecting our mouths. I fell off to the side of him and he rolled onto his side as well, so my back was against his chest, I looked up at him and he touched our noses before sliding his hand under my shirt and started to caress my fur, making me laugh as his hands trailed across my fur. he stopped and looked down at me before smiling and resting his head into the crook of my neck.

As I was about to say something a loud bang came from downstairs and we both shot up immediately and looked outside the window only to see the sky nearly pitch black with a hint of green and hail and snow falling everywhere. we got up and ran downstairs as mum came out of her room and followed us down. the window had shattered from a giant piece of hail that had crashed through it, the rain pouring in from outside. we pushed the table against the window and boarded off the other windows before seeking shelter down in the basement. I had my phone with me while Zane held me close, he was shaking a bit, so I laid my head down in his chest and relaxed, mum on the other hand was getting food and water and other items to wait out the storm. I felt a buzzing on my side before Zane pulled out his phone and answered it, "hello mum. yes, I'm fine. No, I'm at Rad's house. No, I don't know when I'll be home, Depends on the storm. Love you too, bye." he said before hanging up and looking down at me a reassuringly but with a bit of worry in his face.

Mum came down a bit later with a few blankets and pillows, along with a box of food and a few big jugs of water which we helped her carry down the steps, pulling out the camping beds we had stored down here from packing. Zane laid down on my one and cuddled up to me, his tail in between his legs and he was shaking still. "are you ok Zane? you're shaking." I said a bit worried. "I just uh I just don't like storms, I have bad memories of them that's all," he said while pulling himself closer to me and his head just poking out from the covers. I rolled over and laid my head into his fur and hugged him, mum was on her phone probably texting family to tell them we were alright. I pulled out my phone again and started to text the group chat that Me, Zane, Toxic and Jake were all in.

Me: is everyone alright? Zane's with me.

Toxic: yeah, I'm alright, and why are you and Zane together rn huh. ;)

Me: oh, that's right I haven't told you guys yet have I?

Toxic: Told us what huh? That Zane boned you after the movies huh?

Zane: That's right and he enjoyed every second of it lol.

I looked at Zane who was laughing and he looked at me before pulling me in and kissing me deeply while he took a photo and posting it to the group chat.

Zane: See.

Toxic: OMG I'm so happy for you two. you two make the cutest couple lol.

Me: Ok that's enough lol, anyway where's Jake?

Toxic: oh, he went to the storm shelter earlier. I tried to call him, but his phone must have died. :(

Me: well, I hope he's ok. anyway, I'm glad that you're ok as well, I'm gonna probably cuddle up to this big hunk of a wolf now cya.

Zane: Hunk hey? I like it cutie.

Toxic: Oh, stop it you two. you guys were made for each other lol. anyways cya.

We put our phones down and started giggling before he wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on top of my head. "well, I'm gonna try and get some sleep to pass the storm." he said and placed a kiss on my head and closed his eyes. "ok Hun." I said and nuzzled into his fur and closed my eyes as well, listening to the howling winds outside along with the occasional crackle of thunder or the hail hitting the roof. I started to drift off to sleep and he started to hold me closer, making me feel safe. I only remember the last noise of him yawning before I fell asleep.

I woke up to a call on my phone and answered it. "oh, thank god I was able to reach you, I've been trying for over half an hour now. my phone broke on the way over to the shelter and I had to borrow someone else's." Jake said in a panicked tone. "I'm ok and Toxic said she was as well." I replied, "well that's good since I can't access my furstagram, and her phone is off as well." he said before I felt Zane pulling me close, I rolled over and he asked, "who is it, Rad?" "oh, it's just Jake, he had to borrow someone else's phone to call." I said and he kissed my cheek before resting his head on the pillow again and closing his eyes. "who was that huh?" he said and laughed a bit "oh that's right since you can't read the group chat ill just tell you. well, uhh, you see... Me and Zane are dating now," I said shyly as my cheeks reddened. "I knew it since Toxic and I couldn't reach you after the movies, ha." he said and laughed a bit before continuing "well I gotta go now, cya." "cya," I said, and we hung up. I rolled over to Zane who had fallen asleep and rested my face against his chest again and closed my eyes, falling asleep with him.
