Cloudy Skies

Chapter 14

We sat down at the table after getting our lunch and started to chat about the weekend and what we were doing. me and Zane were talking about the movie we were gonna watch and how it was apparently one of the centuries best horror movies. I was looking forward to watching the movie but mainly just to be next to Zane more. we finish lunch and I go to get up and put my tray back when I spot Turk and Skip, I head over after putting my tray away and meet up with them. "hey how are you two." I say and start talking to them. "hey, what's up Rad?" Skip asked with his head cocked. "oh, just saying hi, what you two doing?" I replied with a slight smile. "Zane's attitude must be rubbing off on me," I thought. the bell rang after we started chatting and we had to go to our separate classes. I went to my locker with Zane and got the things I needed for math. after I finished at my locker, I said bye to Zane and walked off to my math class alone.

The class was not as tough as I thought it was going to be and soon enough, I was heading down to my locker to get my books for English where I met up with Zane. I couldn't keep him off my mind and I was just staring at him, that was until he brought me back to reality by placing his hand on my shoulder and asking, "are you ok?" I just looked up to him and couldn't stop making eye contact. "uhh huh yea..." I said while dazing off. "are you ok? you're not sick still I hope." he said with a bit of worry in his voice. I managed to snap out of it when he hugged me, I just stood there frozen, he pulled back and started to blush a bit, his tail wagging between his legs before he stopped it with his hand. "I uhh, hope you're ok now, I mean last night u kinda worried me." he said while looking down a bit. "yeah, I'm ok, It's just that dream from last night. I said and I shut my locker and patting him on the back before leaving for class.

I met up with Jake who was waiting for me outside of the classroom. Waiting and watching through the crowd of people walking into the classroom, trying to spot me. I called out his name and his ears perked up and locked onto my direction, he spotted me and waved me over. I walked over to him and we walked into the classroom and sat down. "what took you so long?" he said and looked a bit upset. "I had a bit of a problem with a bad dream last night and haven't been able to shake it out of my head," I said, and a loose tear trailed down my cheek, but I wiped it off and my eyes before anymore followed. "Oh, I'm sorry, I hope you're ok," he said, and his ears drooped backwards. "hey, it's ok, I'm alright now. let's just do our work." I said as the teacher walked in. I opened my book and wrote down the notes and questions for the lesson, answering them as I went through. I saw Jake struggling a bit and decided to help him. "sorry it's just I've been busy with homework lately." he said and followed the easy instructions I gave him. after he had got the hang of it, I finished my work. I laid my head on my desk and watched the snowfall outside. after a while, the bell rang, and I packed up my stuff and we exited the class, and I went to my locker and met up with Zane again. "hey, you ready for cooking?" he said and still looked a bit troubled. "I'm just getting ready now, and I'm ok if you're wondering," I said and smiled up at him.

After I had gotten my stuff for cooking and put my math stuff away, me and Zane walked to cooking class together. we sat down at our desk and the teacher came over and handed us our score on the cake we had decorated yesterday. "100%..." Zane whispered under his breath with shock. the teacher just smiled and went off to give the other kids their scores. "is this your first 100% or something?" I said jokingly before he put his hand on my mouth and said, "yes now shhh before anyone hears you." he said while blushing slightly. I just shut my mouth and looked at the score as well. Apparently, we had made a very tasty, flavoured cake and the paw was a "cute" design. I just laughed a bit and Zane looked at me with his head cocked to the side. "oh, it's just that I only thought of the paws because of how small my hands are compared to yours." I said and laughed a bit before placing my paw next to his. he took my paw in his and held it, I started to blush a was about to pull it back when he started to press the pads on my paws making me laugh a bit. "is that ticklish or something?" he asked with a devious smile on his face. I just blushed even more and pulled my hand away before anyone saw us. "s-stop i-it's just s-sensitive." I said while giggling a bit. he was giggling a bit too and said, "why do you think I did it then, plus it made you feel better." He said and his tail was wagging furiously behind him and so was mine. after a while, we calmed down and started to copy down the notes on the board about what we were making next week. after we had copied the notes, I just sat there with my head in my arms on the desk with a smile across my face thinking of Zane.
