Cloudy Skies

Chapter 7

As we were driving home, we were all discussing the fireworks and how beautiful they were and the tea and sushi. That's when Toxic spoke up "so how was the water you two" with a sly tone, I, of course, looked back and glared at her while blushing lightly. "it was quite good after a day of practice." he said while chuckling lightly. "y-ye it was g-good" I said shivering a bit and let about a little sneeze "aww" Zane said and Toxic and Jake both laughed. I wipe my nose with the towel, all the scents wafting into my nose.

I suddenly feel my phone ring and see that it was mum and picked it up. "hey, I won't be home tonight till Monday. I have to go on a very important business trip. I'm sorry you'll have to look after the house for the next few days without me" she said with a rushed voice and what sounded like a plane going off in the background. "I-its ok m-mum I-I'll be fine," I say and immediately sneeze "I was just watching the fireworks and slipped off the dock into the water I'm fine tho-" was all I could say before mum said, "are you ok, you didn't hit your head did you, I hope you're not sick." she said frantically. "yes, there's no need to worry, my friend is driving me home." I said trying to reassure her "do you want me to stay and make sure you're alright, I mean I don't want you getting sick." he whispered to me so my mum wouldn't hear "let me ask real her quick" I whispered back. "hey mum, I was wondering can a friend stay the night they offered to make sure I was ok and that I wake up for school tomorrow." I asked, "hmmm sure but make sure to go to bed on time and don't eat all the food in the house," she said "we will, and we won't and thank you, love you, mum," I said "love you too, my flights here so I'll see you on Monday," she said and hung up.

After dropping both Toxic and Jake at their houses we stopped at Zane's so he could tell his mum what was happening and grab some extra supplies for school and such. After he got his stuff and put it all in the car we drove to my house while I had my head against the window and trying not to sneeze as much. We got to my house and he carried his stuff out the back of his car and put it on the coffee table inside and made me go upstairs and have a hot shower, he wasn't messing around when it came to my health. he got me some briefs while looking away with a small smirk on his face, I just blushed a bit and took them and got changed. I then went and lied down on my bed still shivering a bit until he came up and asked if I was ok, I said yes, and he went and gave me the jumper he had on and went back downstairs. I put it on, and it smelled just like he did when I was up close to him, I started to blush and sniff it even more while thinking of him holding me close again as he had done in the water. before I went to bed I got up and went and got a drink of water where I saw Zane passed out on the couch, I laughed and drank the glass of water and gently shook him awake asking if he wanted to come and sleep up on my bed and I can make a bed on the floor so it will be more comfortable for him, he declined and said he can take the bed on the floor, I sighed being too tired to say otherwise and we went upstairs to my room and I made the bed and then laid down on mine gave him my blanket saying that his jumper will be enough, he smiled and we went to bed.

I woke up to being face first in Zane's chest and looked up to his face only to see his tongue half out and his ears all floppy, probably having another good dream, I looked back down a bit and saw he was only wearing a jockstrap. I just laid there for a bit blushing uncontrollably before waking him up and telling him we need to get ready for school, he groaned and yawned but got up anyway and went downstairs to grab some clothes for school. I got up and searched through my closet and found a new pair of briefs and cloths for school before going and finding a towel.

After having showers and getting ready, he went down and made some toast for us and asked what I wanted on mine "butter please" I said but sneezed halfway through talking. "you might have to stay home today if you're sick with a cold, you can't do cooking class or gym." he said with a bit of sadness in his eyes "I'll call the school and tell them you can't come today and that I'll be looking after you" he said and my eyes shot open and stared at him "you don't have to start home and look after me, I'm fin-." and I said but sneezed again before finishing my sentence "here let me feel your head" he said and placed his paw on my head. "yep, as I thought, you have a temperature, you're staying home today, and I have to as well just in case I'm sick from the water too." he said with sighing. I took my shoes off and put my bag back in my room with my shoes and went back downstairs and started to eat my breakfast while watching the tv and laying down on the couch while Zane was getting some medicine and a cool cloth for me.
