Location: Unknown Regions

Date: 4ABY

Time: Sunset

Ezra looked around his makeshift home. It was really a small cave that he found in a cliff overlooking the ocean. Inside it had a bed made of wood with rough sheets, herbs for healing and cooking hanging from the ceiling and in jars that were in cracks. The blazing, beautiful sunset showed through the entrance. It reminded him of Sabine. Beautiful, powerful, fierce, hopeful, colorful, the bursting with energy. He smiled. He knew that Sabine always loved watching the sunset.

She had once told him when he was feeling down, "Whenever I feel like I'm alone, like I'm in someone's way, or anything related to despair or misery, I look at the sunset. It always calmed me down. And it's always better when someone is watching with you." This was why he made his home here in the cave. He could just look at this one small detail and remember her.

He missed everything and everyone. Lothal, Kanan, Zeb, Hera, fighting the Empire, the Rebellion, and—yes, believe it or not—Chopper. But most of all, he missed Sabine. "One day," he promised himself. "One day I'll see her again. I'll see everyone again. Someday soon. I will."

He thought back to what happened that dreaded day. The last member of the crew he saw was Sabine. A silent understanding past through them. She covered for him, distracted Hera and the others so he could go to the Star Destroyer. Her eyes showed that she was upset, but she knew he had to do it.

One of the last things he told her, and her alone, was "I know I can always count on you." She had asked, "Okay, what are you getting at now?" He didn't respond. She had known something was up. The last thing he heard from the Ghost Crew was her voice begging him, "Ezra, get out of there! Please!" Her voice had started to brake.

He hated himself for causing her more pain. He knew she had lost everything and had suffered the most out of all the Crew. He didn't want to make her feel more, but he knew that she would eventually get over it. His choices were: get the entire Crew killed, make the Crew suffer loss, or they all get killed along with the planet. He chose option two.

The sun had gone down long ago, and Ezra felt tired. He did what he always did before going to sleep. He tried to reach her with the Force. Was Sabine close enough this time? He didn't know if she was on Lothal, or looking for him. He knew she wasn't dead. He would feel it. As usual, what he got was despair. Sabine wasn't close enough. But this time, he also got something that surprised him. Something he had prayed she would someday understand and do. He ran outside to look at the glittering night sky. He saw a shooting star. No. That was no shooting star. Nor was that a comet. He grinned. That was a spaceship, light-years away, but it was one; and that was enough.

He would be able to sleep well that night. He was feeling a feeling he hadn't felt in years.

Hope.

Well? Ezra's chapter good? I'll be doing Thrawn's chapter soon, so you know what happened to him. Well, what I think happened to him.....those who watched the Mandalorian episode with Ahsoka, you know that no one knows what happened to him. And also, prepare yourself for a crossover in the next chapter! Who is Ahsoka's friend? (To be honest, I had no clue who her friend was at first, but now I do!) I'll give you a hint: Sabine knows her as well, and she appeared in two episodes in two different shows, and many episodes in one other. Hehe! May the Force be with you!
