"Sabine."
"Sabine."
"Sabine."
"Sabine."
Voices flooded her head.
"Sabine."
"Sabine."
She heard her mother's voice, her father's voice, her brother's voice, Ketsu's voice, Kanan's voice, Hera's voice, Zeb's voice, Chopper's—grumpy beeps? All of the voices of people she loved. But most of all, she heard Ezra's voice. "Sabine, don't give up. It's not you're time. You must stay alive....I will tell you where I am......"
"SABINE!" It was Ahsoka's voice. "Don't shout at her!" Was that Bo-Katan's voice? "Don't shout at Ahsoka." Who's voice was that? "Sabine, if you can hear me, you need to wake up! Don't give up now! We have a lead....A lead to Ezra!" Sabine tried to wake up. She tried to open her eyes. No. She had to stop. It was tiring her.
"Sabine! Please.....wake up...." Ahsoka's voice became thick with fear and sorrow. "At least....at least give us a sign that you are still with us.....that you haven't given up.....What would I tell the Ghost Crew? What would I tell EZRA? I wouldn't be able to face him, the Ghost Crew, or you're family......Please.....I can't find him without you...wake up....."
Sabine's heart broke. She wouldn't give up. She would continue fighting to the end. She was a Mandalorian. She was a Wren. She was a rebel. She survived countless battles. She would not die.
Ahsoka looked at Sabine. She was in coma. Ahsoka closed her eyes, as did Bo-Katan, to hide her grief. She took her friend's hand into hers. Holding it in both of her hands, she brought it to her forehead. Ahsoka felt something squeeze her hand. She looked at Sabine. Brown eyes stared back. Sabine smiled weakly. "Miss me?" She said, her voice horse.
"Sabine!" Ahsoka put her arm over Sabine, holding on to her with all her strength. Bo-Katan looked up, her face lighting up. But she stayed back, knowing it was not her time to greet her best-friend's daughter.
"Ahsoka—I—can't—breathe!" Sabine managed to choke out. Ahsoka got up, looking at the Mando woman with joy. "Sorry," she said. "I'm just really glad to see you not dead."
"Yeah, me too!" Sabine joked. Bo-Katan decided to jump in. "Hello, Sabine. How are you feeling?" Sabine looked over at Bo-Katan, just realizing that she was there. "Lady Bo-Katan? Is that you?" Sabine asked, very confused.
"Is it me? Or am I a hut?!" Bo-Katan was never the best with jokes, but Sabine laughed. "Okay, when someone makes a joke as bad as that, then it's definitely her!" Bo-Katan only smiled. Koska Reeves and Axe Woves (Bo-Katan's friends and companions) walked into the room.
"Well, it's good to know that she is—meaning both of you—alive. By the way, we're approaching Lothal." Koska said. Sabine frowned. "Lothal? Why are we going there?" She asked Ahsoka.
"Bo-Katan has information that could help us find Ezra. She made a deal with me. Get her and her friends to Lothal, and she'll tell us what she knows."
"Wait, Bo-Katan was the person we spent a million hours waiting for?"
"Sabine, we waited ten minutes. Fifteen if you count the five minutes we spent fighting the Empire."
"Enough about this. Sabine, Ahsoka and I will help you to the cockpit. I'll tell you what I know then," Bo-Katan said.
When they got to the cockpit, Bo-Katan told the two what she knew about Ezra's location.
"I had received this transmission about half a year ago. I couldn't make sense of it, but I kept it around anyway. I don't know why, but I felt that something was importent about it. It's only claps and taping noises, and Sabine had developed a clapping language with the Ghost Crew, so I thought it could be connected. Here it is." She played the recording.
Sabine listened, her eyes widening as she heard the strange combo of claps and bangs.
Ahsoka looked carefully at her friend. She seemed to know something.
At the end of it Sabine looked up, a huge smile exploding on her face.
"I think I know where Ezra is."
There it is! Bo-Katan will be in one more chapter. But in the next one, we see another familiar face! THREE familiar faces if you all have seen all of the Rebels seasons. May the Force be with you!
