Ahsoka fell, Tristan catching her with a fearful look in his gaze. Fear was in the faces of Alrich and Ursa, too.
"You have the Force. Is she....." Ursa choked on tears. She wasn't one who gave into emotion often, but she couldn't loose her daughter again. She would brake. And she also blamed herself; she was the one who said that Sabine should go alone.
Ahsoka got back up, and looked into the horizon.
"She's gone, I felt it, I—" She stopped. She looked down, and then back at the horizon, where the sun was sinking.
Something was off about Sabine's death.
She was dead, she was sure, but......something was different. Ahsoka had felt deaths before, but none were ever like this. This one was hopeful, unafraid. Sad, though. But hopeful.
Ahsoka reached her hand out and constrained.
Please be right, please be right, please be right, she thought. Suddenly, she felt what she was looking for. She turned to the Mandalorians, and smiled. Then she spoke.
Am I dead? No. It hurts to much, was Sabine's first thought.
She groaned, and opened her eyes. She was in a cave of some sort, with strange herbs hanging from the ceiling. She was on a hard, yet comfortable bed, with sewed rags as sheets. She spotted someone outside.......meditating?
She tried to move, but it hurt. Her vision went black. Then she heard a voice. A voice that was unforgettable. One that she had missed for five years.
"Hello Sabine! It's been a long time, hasn't it?" Said a voice that could only belong to:
"Ezra? I-is that you?"
Her heart filled with hope, as she saw the all to familiar eclectic-blue eyes, twin scars on his left cheek, and goofy smile on his face.
"It's me, Sabine. It's really me."
Sabine sat up, ignoring the pain that shot up her side. The two long-lost friends looked at each other, unable to move.
Then Sabine leaned forward and hugged him. Taken by surprise, he hugged her back. They held onto each other tightly; they didn't want to let go.
They stayed that way for a long time, tears of joy running down both of their faces, and onto the other's back. But nether about that part. They just held on for what seemed eternity. Then Sabine remembered something. Breaking apart the hug, she asked, "How long was I out?"
"You where only out one night," Ezra replied. Sabine looked outside.
"We have to get back. Ahsoka, Mom, Dad, and Tris will be scared."
"Wait, Ursa, Alrich, and Tristan came? I mean, I knew that Ahsoka did, but," Ezra said.
"Yeah. They tagged along. Mom got injured by bucketheads."
"The Empire's still around?"
"No. Everything we've fought for, Ezra! It's finally happened!"
Ezra looked like he wanted to burst with excitement, but he controlled himself.
"Well then, let's go! Can't wait to get off this rock. And on the way, tell me everything that I missed," he said.
So she did.
They where still walking when Sabine came to the part with Hera and Jacen.
"And Hera.........she had a son. Kanan's. His name's Jacen," she said. Ezra noticed that Sabine's gaze darkened as she mentioned Hera, but he pushed that aside, now knowing who Jacen was.
"Wait Jacen is......okay wow. The Force told me much about a kid named Jacen, and that I was to take him as my Padawan, but now that I know he's Hera's and Kanan's kid....that's just a whole new level!"
Sabine smiled softly, and she looked down. She knew the truth about her and the Ghost Crew would come out eventually, so she decided now was better then later.
"Hera and I, we haven't been getting along lately," she started. Ezra stopped, looking surprised.
"But you two were always so close," he said.
Sabine held back tears of sorrow.
"She tried to stop me from looking for you. She was only scared, though. She..........she wanted to protect me, so when I stormed out of the common room, she sent Zeb, Kallus, and Chopper to keep me from leaving. They failed, b-but I had to stun Zeb. I—" She broke down, sobbing. Her legs felt weak, and she fell, only to be caught by Ezra. He held her, putting his head on her's, muttering softly, and sending comforting waves to calm her down.
After a little while, she stopped crying, and stood up. Ezra asked softly, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I thought you would hate me for hurting Zeb," she choked.
"I could never hate you. I love you," Ezra said before he knew what he was saying. Sabine looked up at him, her eyes still teary.
What Sabine said made his heart melt with happiness.
"I love you to. More than anything."
@Fanfiction1090, I didn't kill her. I just made her pass out! Or did I? *Smiles mysteriously*
@Achilles453, I'm not saying anything about that. You'll have to wait and see what happens! *Smiles mischievously*
Okay, so there it is. New chapter out soon! Happy Spring Break (if you have off)! May the Force be with you!
