LINK'S PERSPECTIVE -
Light seeps through the curtains of the Inn as I squint my eyes and try to force myself to open my eyes and get out of bed. My body is pressed tightly against Zelda's, the feel of her smooth skin against mine brings strong memories of the night back into my mind. Butterflies swarm against my chest, and I smile to myself, kissing her shoulder lightly, before extricating myself from around her body, and resting my feet on the cold, harsh floor.
It's today that we'll be setting off on our journey across Hyrule to get to the Spring of Power. Zelda believes that it's the only way that she can redeem her powers, and I will always stick by her side.
I get back into my heavy metal armour, and gaze down upon Zelda, grinning at her beautiful form, deep in slumber. I open the door out into the main area of Goron City and the heat shocks me immediately. I gasp as it hits me in torrents, forgetting just how boiling it truly is here. It's time to find Yunobo and tell him we're leaving.
I find him over near the chief's iron throne, and smile as I walk up to him, shuffling along awkwardly.
"Link!! What's up, man?" He says joyfully, trying to pat me on the back, but I quickly dodge out of the way, what with me being rather keen on my spine and not wanting it to snap.
"Yunobo– Hey, I just wanted to let you know that we'll be setting off for the Spring of Power today. Whenever the Princess wakes." I reply, turning to face the Inn.
"No worries! It's been great having you both here to stay! Good luck with it all." Yunobo smiles, and I nod before walking back into the Inn. Zelda is sitting up in our shared bed, rubbing her head with her fingers.
"Are you ok, Princess?" I ask her, concern etched onto my face as I stumble over to her.
"Yes. Yes. Link, I'm fine. I just–" she stutters, and I perch on the edge of the bed, stroking her hair in comfort. "I just– Didn't think...last night...I–" Zelda continues, and my heart rate picks up.
"Wait– Zel, are you not happy that we– Did you feel pressured?" I ask, fretfully, leaning towards her to look into her eyes.
"No! No! I loved every moment of it. I regret nothing, Link. I just– It was my first time...I'm not sure how to cope with it..." She says quietly, gazing down into her lap and fiddling with her fingers.
"It was...It was my first time as well, Zelda. But I'm glad it was with you more than anyone. You're the most wonderful human." I say, smiling, tilting her chin up to me with my thumb and forefinger.
Smiling, Zelda replies, "The feeling is very much mutual. I love you, Link." She says, and leans in for a kiss.
Once again, the feel of her lips against mine sends exciting shivers up and down my spine, and I melt with her touch.
Everything about her is perfect. Nothing can change how I feel about her.
We finally break apart, and I smile as we sit there on the bed, cuddling tightly.
"We best be on our way." Zelda states after a while of silence.
I nod, pulling away from her reluctantly, and say, "Yeah. I told Yunobo we'd be leaving. So we are free to go whenever."
Zelda nods, and starts to pack up her equipment, before pulling me into a hug and saying, "Come on then, my knight." With a smile.
