Forty-Two

~Forth~

I walked inside Beams dorm, biting my tongue on what I really wanted to know. That was, what was his relationship with Tharn. But, I knew this was not the time. Besides, what right do I have to question who he hangs out with? Yet, I couldn't shake off the feeling so I asked, " ... Is Tharn... umm, I mean are you ...in Tharn's band now?" I changed my mind on asking the dreadful question after all.

One thing about Beam is certain, he is up front and candid about how he feels. " Yea... I figured I should find a hobby, so I've been playing with his band. How have you been?"- Beam. I looked into those eyes of his, that alway seem to draw me in. " Well, I've been doing a lot of thinking. Some of it involving you and I"- I said. " I am sorry P'Forth... I know the way I left things with you was abrupt. I've been meaning to reach out to you"-Beam.

In that moment, all I saw was a broken guy. * Was this because of Lam or ...* " I understand, I just felt like you didn't give me a chance after you said what you needed to say. I don't want things to be awkward with us. The least, we can be friends..." I said. He smiled at my remark, "... sure, why not I can really use a friend now"-Beam replied with a smile. But inside, my stomach churned because in my heart I wanted more than friendship. In fact, I came here to let him know I'll still pursue him. Then seeing him like this, confirmed the best thing to do is right now. That's to build that chemistry and spark we had before. I'll court him in secret. And hopefully, my heart will reach him.

~Lam~

" ...Babe sorry I won't be able to pick you up. Earth got us going over a project here. I'll see you at the party"-P'Lam said on the phone. We exchanged a few words and decided to meet up at the party. I'll drive with Forth, then ride back with Park. " So what is the status with N'Beam?" I asked Forth as we set out to Wayo's Surprise birthday party.

" I think Tharn might be making a move on him..."-Forth. I glanced in his direction, puzzled "... wait! Isn't he with Type?" I said still in disbelief. " When did that ever stop a man from cheating?"-Forth. He made a valid point, but Tharn is very dedicated to Type. Then I thought about my own feelings I had developed for N'Beam. He is charming, handsome and overall alluring. I definitely can see how one would be infatuated with him.

" So... do you think N'Beam feels the same way about him?"-I asked. He just pulled up to our destination, then replied. " I don't think he is over you"-Forth. I was so taken aback by his words, I didn't notice when Pete pulled up to my side of the window. " What are you still doing in the car... let's go!!!"-Pete. I turned to where Forth sat, but he had stepped out the vehicle already.

~Beam~

P'Tharn has been giving me the cold shoulder since we arrived at the party venue. What happened to the over zealous and flirty guy from yesterday? " When is Type getting here?" Techno as Tharn after we were done setting up. " I .DON'T.KNOW..." P'Tharn snapped at him. " sheeesh... trouble in paradise!"-Techno said before taking his leave. Soon people started arriving, and we played a few songs.

Then, P'Forth arrived and right after him was P'Lam. I have not seen him since the Sotus closing and seeing him now brought up feelings ; that I thought I had tucked away. Rumor was that he was back with P'Park, and I was looking in their direction. Until I noticed him heading in my direction. *wait! Is he coming over to me?* "Hi Beam..." -P'Lam. I gulped... " can I have a word with you?" He said.

" Ummm... we will be going on soon... Wayo will be here and ..." I proceeded to rumble on, when he said. " it won't take long.."-P'Lam. I followed him to the balcony. He we got the there, he looked out to the distance and said. " I want to apologize Beam..."-P'Lam. *What is he apologizing for?* " I apologize for disregarding how you felt about me. Truth is, I liked you too."

I listened attentively, ".... I found myself falling for you. But decided to forgo my feelings..."- P'Lam. I listen to that calm voice of his, but I still couldn't let go of his last statement. He liked me? What has changed? What could have cause this change?  He then looked me in the eyes, "... thank you Beam.... for liking me the way you did. I want us to be friends... and I know someone who is heads over hills for you"-P'Lam said while turning about with me to the dance floor.

And in by the bar stool looking in our direction was P'Forth.  Then out the blue came a husky looking man, he glanced at me and kissed P'Lam on the lips.  In that instant, I knew exactly who that was. " you must be Beam..." he said with a smirk 😏. I couldn't find the words, rather I nodded my head. " STOP scarring him... nong, I'll see you around" P'Lam said then walked away.

~Forth~

When we arrived, I told Lam about Beam not being over him.  Frankly, he needed to hear it too. He has been walking around pretending he didn't share a moment with Beam. Once we got inside, Tharn walked passed me and purposely bumped into me. I followed him outside. " What the hell is your problem Tharn?" I asked. He put his hands on his pocket, "... you sent Type pictures of me with N'Beam right?" He said. I looked at him confused, Max took pictures that day but I didn't know he sent them.

" Yea... I love  Type... but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. You of all people should know better than to snitch on another man"-P'Tharn. So his intentions was to take advantage of N'Beam! Without much word I walked up to him and  punched him. He got up, I thought he was going to start something and I was ready to knock him down again. " ...this shot is not worth it... I'm out.." That's said leaving.

He bailed on performing before Wayo even arrived. I went to the bar area to get some ice for my hand. When I saw Lam and Beam by the balcony having what seem like an intense conversation. I watched in silence, before long P'Park arrived and they parted ways with Beam. He stood still  silently by himself until Wayo and Phana finally arrived. To say the kid was surprised was an understatement. H cut the cake and made a toast.

Next, Beam and the band were to perform but there was no Tharn in sight. So I walked up to Beam, " ... do you guys need a drummer? I can fill in for you". The others agreed to have me play, and so we played a few songs everyone knew. I didn't disclose what had transpired between Tharn and I. It was best Beam didn't know what Tharn's intentions were. So what are you doing after this party?" Beam asked out the blue, I turned to him surprised to see the smile on his face. " I know this really good Korean spot, what do you say?"-I asked. " I think I'll like that very much..."-Beam.

A/N: After writing and deleting several chapters, I couldn't bring myself to deliver the FORTHBEAM ending some of you were yearning for. I decided to end the story with them being in good terms and Forth courting him in secret. I just couldn't see Beam and Forth together for this Fan fix. With that said!!!!
