16. Warmth
"Hyung, I haven't even finished a chapter!"
Seokjin giggled at Taehyung who is whining beside him at the very same coffee shop they were in last three weeks. As soon as the younger entered the café, he is already whining about not even finishing chapter one of the book he borrowed from Seokjin.
"Taehyung, it's already been a week. You could at least read about five chapters minimum. I'd say that was a lazy phase too, but none? Oh my god? I thought you already read at least a hundred pages since we were here together last week!"
"Hyung, I promise I did try, but I always get notifications of your messages, how am I supposed to ignore you?" Seokjin felt his cheeks dust pink with the remark. He just chuckled it off to hide his embarrassment.
"You could've given me the impression that you are reading, you know. I would stop texting you if you told me that was the case. So, what will we do now? I am so eager to ask you what you think about the story, but you are such a bummer, you didn't even read at least one chapter."
Taehyung pouted and took a sip of the warm coffee. The snow outside is slowly melting, but he already feels warm, Seokjin is here. Even the coffee in his hand has no match against those warm smiles that the older is throwing at him right just on the opposite of his seat.
"I did read at least three pages, hyung. And all the information I got was Viv staring at the magic mirror trying to get dressed for a ball, but in no way does she want to be the most beautiful girl in the room. She wants to be the ugliest to please her stepmother."
Seokjin hummed and nodded. He already read the novel twice. Sara Cross, Tear You Apart. A good book, incredibly good in fact. Great for beginners like Taehyung. The story is just like Snow White with a twist.
Then he heard Taehyung chuckled, Seokjin got curious and looked at the man in front of him, "Why? Is there something funny on my face?"
Taehyung shook his head as a no.
"I just remembered how the book described Viv, and while looking at you, I guess there is no difference at all. That lines: "Fairer than she (the queen) is. Like a forest nymph. Beautiful ... Divine ... So innocent ... Gorgeous. More beautiful than she is." While reading those lines, your face pops up. Lips with the color of a cherry Popsicle, skin ghost-pale, and very dark enticing eyes."
Seokjin just stared at Taehyung as he recites those words to him. At some point, it became uneasy to look straight to the younger's eyes. How could he? When those beautiful dark coffee orbs digging right through his soul. Like Taehyung wants to reach the deepest parts of him that has always been hidden and pushed in the dark.
And he felt like running.
No, not running away from Taehyung, but running towards Taehyung. Sprinting until he could meet him eye to eye and solve the mystery of which why there is a certain warmth in the younger's eyes that seemed to lure Seokjin towards him.
It's dangerous, he knows it is. But Seokjin can't seem to be bothered.
"I don't know how to react, Taehyungie." He looked away.
God, how hard was it to look away from those deep brown eyes? He let out a shaky breath and grabbed his glass of juice. His stomach is churning, but not with disgust or anything else.
He feels butterflies.
He internally smacked his head. isn't he too old to feel this kind of things? Not to mention to feel this weird sensation with Taehyung. With Taehyung, not with Jimin – his fiancé.
