"Congratulations on your graduation, Miss Kiki!" the dean said as he held his hand out to shake Kiki's hand. She was beaming up on the podium, holding onto her diploma with a grin, proud of what she achieved in the four years she attended at the college. Jin got his own diploma not long before her and was already lost in the student body below the podium.

Cheers erupted in the auditorium, everyone clapping for Kiki, the loudest being her group of friends. Her grin grew wider as she turned around from the dean to wave at her love and friends, but instead, everyone got engulfed in darkness. Panic settled inside for a few seconds before a light came on, the spotlight set on Kiki. Everyone could read the confusion on her face and could see her efforts in trying to see what was going in the auditorium through the darkness and if her friends were ok. Before she could step forward, out of the light's way, another light turned on, this time in the opposite direction from Kiki.

Everyone's heads turned and Kiki started laughing, her eyes rolling playfully as she saw Jin standing there, still in his graduation robe, holding a pretty big bouquet of pink roses of all shades. The roses were placed in such ways it seemed like a tornado of pink was swirling in the bouquet, ending in the center, where one pastel pink rose stood out from the rest, like it was demanding all attention. She smiled, a soft blush settling on her fair skin as she watched him approach the podium, knowing all eyes were on them. She almost turned towards the dean, to apologize for what was happening, knowing full well they were keeping the line of students who wanted to get their diplomas and just leave this place and celebrate. At the same time, her heart seemed to not be able to calm down, watching the man she loved walk so calmly towards her, his eyes glued onto her, his smile beaming. All attention was on him, and yet, his whole attention was only on her, like they were the only two in that place, a universe crafted just for the two of them.

When he reached the podium, he just stood there, looking at her, taking in a breath before signaling her to step closer. It wasn't that high, so Kiki did not have to bend that far to get the bouquet of roses. She smiled, taking it from his arms, kissing his cheek, giggling when he whispered his congratulations on her graduation, and before she could reply, he took hold of her hand. He was tall enough that she did not have to stay bent at the waist while he did that, but now she was just confused. When an instrumental song started playing, she was even more confused about what was happening, wanting to ask when did they get a band for the graduation day.

"I know that from today onwards, as we both graduate, our paths might be slightly different, putting a bit of distance in our lives. But before you get to know the shine of that life, before I can let you walk on that path towards your dreams, I want to make you a promise." Jin started talking, and Kiki gasped, as she recognized what the band was playing now, and she could half-guess what was happening.

Her eyes were filling with tears as she looked at him, her hand slightly shaking into his. Jin smiled at her, his eyes filling with love for the woman in front of him, his large hand covering her shaking one. She could see he was just as nervous, his ears turning red while he was saying those words.

"I know I should not promise you the stars, or the moon, or eternal happiness, as life isn't only about that. But what I want to promise you is my love for you. My wish to make you happy, that started ever since middle school, matured with us both, and now grew into this rose at the center of the bouquet. Just like this bouquet, our life has so many twists and turns, we might not know where it will take us, but I want you to know that my love will always be there next to you, accompanying you, until we are together on the same path again." he continued as he looked at the silent woman standing taller than him thanks to the podium. A few tears escaped her eyes, and she was wiping them away with her free hand to give herself an occupation. He smiled gently, reaching for the pastel-colored pink rose in the middle of the bouquet, softly taking it out, and before even five seconds passed in real life, he kneeled in front of the podium, his hands extended to show what the rose contained.
