"Watch where you're going, this place doesn't belong to you!" an argument broke through two women walking ahead of a red-haired woman. She could only sigh and try to go around them, as they stopped in the middle of the crowd, blocking everyone from passing by.

Lexy was tired after her flight, it was cold outside and there was no one out there to pick her up. She didn't tell them she was coming, after all, wanting to surprise them all, but she did not expect to be surprised herself by the snowstorm outside. Taxis were coming and going, and the usually crowded airport seemed even more crowded than ever. She was exhausted from the flight, had a headache from the kid sitting behind her that kept kicking her seat to the point her sleep just vanished. And now her headache got worse as she heard the noises the crowd was making, especially the two women that kept squabbling about who should apologize first. Sighing, she only wished she would have told at least someone she was coming back, so they could come to pick her up from the airport, so she would not have to sit outside and wait until a taxi was available.

In the end, she chose to go first to a cafe and get something to eat, and maybe a coffee, to keep her sanity in this weather. She wasn't that snappy usually, but it was already the second day without sleep, as her emotions and anxiety were on high, and she could not sleep a wink. Her schedule still showed she was supposed to be away for another three months, but she managed to exchange her study plan with someone else from her class.

Lexy felt homesick after spending three months away from everyone, and while she did have phone calls, and video calls with all of them, it wasn't the same. Being so far away from them just showed her how much she wanted to be close to them, and she could not wait until she hugged everyone.

Stirring her coffee, she looked into the cup filled with the black and bitter liquid of energy she needed at the moment to stay awake. Her reflection was distorted on the surface as she kept stirring, and she wanted to give up on drinking it, to just nap next to the coffee. But she really wanted to get back to the dorm, to sleep a whole day, and then just surprise everyone, one by one, starting with Marie. After her birthday, Marie messaged her daily, sounding normal, but her messages got shorter and shorter until, by Christmas time, she only sent one message per week. When Lexy asked Tae about it, he could only say it was the stress about the practice, as they both had to find someone to take them under their wing.

Lexy swore she was going to tickle Marie until she told her everything honestly, even the time she woke up during the night because a noise scared her. The red-haired woman hated being kept out of the loop, especially after hearing Marie practically stressed herself to the point of fainting, without sharing her burdens with anyone in their group. The earful she got from everyone seemed to not have worked much, as she kept her stress hidden once more.

From Marie, her thoughts drifted to her boyfriend, Taehyung, whom she missed dearly during her time abroad. Her mind still went back to the conversation they had during summer vacation, and she knew it was forceful of her to force his opinion like that and then just run away. In the beginning, she did not see it as running away. She applied for that opportunity before summer, before Jin could tell them his plan of asking Kiki to marry him. She wanted so much to win that time abroad, to learn about the culture abroad, and how people are there, how school is. And when she did get the good news, she saw it as the good news that it was. But after spending months alone in a city she did not know, among people she did not know, she felt the regret coming to bite her. Regret of using the time abroad to run away from Taehyung and their own issue.

It wasn't like she did not want one day to be married. After all, from when she was a child until her teenage years, she dreamed about that perfect wedding. A handsome prince on a white horse would deliver only happiness to her life. She had all the plans laid down, the groom would not even have to lift a finger in deciding between flowers or colors. But then, her parents divorced, separating and arguing who should keep raising her. Her dreams of a happy ending slowly shattered as her parents argued more and more, showing her love wasn't all that great. Her mother won her custody and while she was not the best out there, she provided her with everything she needed. Lexy had everything she wanted, from clothes to accessories, to the best tutors out there. But what she lacked most was her mother's affection, as she was usually gone on business trips. Her father remarried, and she was showed that love comes and goes, and she should only trust in herself and her own abilities.
