Author's POV:
"So, my son, did you meet someone special yesterday?" King asked while Jin was drinking water. Jin stopped drinking and put the glass on the table. He thought for a while what he should answer. And then he just shrugged and began to eat."Jin." King sighed sadly.
"You are such a stupid and spoiled brat!" Fater yelled angrily and startled his son, who stopped eating again and looked at his father.
"I wanted a better future for you. I wanted to give you what your mother wanted for you - choice. But what you did, ignoring all our guests." Father yelled, and Jin lowered his head.
"And you? Where have you been all night? Why did you not watch him? You are supposed to do what I tell you!" Father yelled but not at Jin this time. Jin looked up and saw the victim of the king's wrath. Jungkook was standing nearby their table and bowed to his king, and pleaded for forgiveness. Jin felt a sharp stab in his heart at the sight of his beloved, who was innocent but pleaded for forgiveness.
"Dad, stop. It is not his fault. I danced a lot and talked to guests. But no one was good enough. I didn't like any of them." Jin said with his head held high. King stared at his son. There was silence, and no one even dared to move an inch.
"Fine." King sighed and put his hands down on the table. Jin felt hope - is his father going to let him choose whoever he wants?
"I gave you enough of the time. Now, because of your stubbornness, you will face the consequences." King said seriously without looking at his son.
"W-what d-do you mean?" Jin asked with terror.
"I made a deal with King of Anyang."
"What deal?" Jin asked curiously.
"It is an old deal. When I was your age, I was already king. And honestly, my beginning of reigning wasn't good. I had a lot of problems, and I was alone in everything. The only advice that I got from my dying father was to find allies. King of Anyang Lee Dong Wook was the same age as me, but his leading skills were much better, and his kingdom was blooming. But he still was willing to accept my alliance offer. We became friends on thrones, even on the battlefield, but then we got into a fight. I was blinded by grudge, so I started a war. He won. And then he forced me to accept this deal." King said in shame and lowered his head.
"Can you finally tell what kind of deal?" Jin yelled anxiously.
"I had to swear that when my first child is old enough, he will be sent to Anyang," King said with a sad look on his son. Jin was looking at him back with tears in his eyes and a disappointed expression.
"You cannot force me. I won't pay for your mistakes!" Jin yelled at stood up.
"Yes, you right. I cannot force you, and I don't want to do it either. But if I break the agreement, war will start. Do you think that it makes me happy? I tried to talk to him for years. I tried to persuade him. I told him to take my life instead of yours, but he still feels wrath towards me. even after all these years."
"What will happen to me there?" Jin asked, and tears still rolled from his eyes.
"I...don't know," King said.
"Will they kill me?" Jin asked silently.
"I don't think so. If he wanted your death, he would do it in front of your mother's eyes. He wouldn't wait for your adulthood."
"Mother? What has she got to do with it? Did she know all the time?" Jin asked, shocked. King kept the silence and just nodded in agreement.
"Oh God, this family!" Jin laughed historically, tears still rolling from his eyes. He stood up and, in a hurry left the room and went to his bedroom.
