Warnings; Angst? Character death.

This is for all peeps who watched Endgame. Instead of Nat and Clint, it's you and Bucky.

     You did it.

     He was safe.

     He had the stone.

     He could save everyone now.

Bucky stared down at your lifeless body hundreds of feet down. His eyes bloodshot and tears streaming down his face.

It wasn't supposed to be like this.

When Tony sent you and Bucky out for the Soul stone, no-one mentioned that someone would have to sacrifice themselves.

                                                                           ***

"Daughter of Pierce and son of Barnes"

Pierce? Pierce was your biological father? Tony had raised you, and he introduced you to the avengers when you'd been kidnapped by Hydra for the second time and he needed helpbringing you back. You were aware that you weren't biologically related, but you never asked about your biological family either. Did he even know? You creased you eyebrows but regained your attention towards the thing in front of you.

"Listen, man. Just show us where it is and we'll be on our way," Bucky stated at the horrendously ugly creature standing in front of you. You and Bucky both pointing a gun at it.

"Oh, if only it were that easy," He said as he walked towards the edge of the cliff completely unfazed by the guns. "In order to take the stone, you must lose that what you love. In everlasting exchange, a soul, for a soul."

                                                                           ***

You sat down further away from the edge. Bucky was standing, walking back and forth, annoyingly calm. "Jesus. Maybe he's...making this shit up," he stated, thinking of possibilities on how to get the soul stone from the Red Skull without anyone dying.

Your face was intensely looking forwards trying to avoid his gaze, your eyebrows furrowed together in concentration. "No..." your voice was firm and confident. "I don't think so," you shook your head.

"Why? Because he knows your dad's name?" He questioned almost appalled.

"I didn't," you said not breaking away your gaze from where you first placed it. He turned around to look at you. "Thanos left here with the stone," you shook your head. "Without his daughter. That's not a coincidence,"

Bucky sighed, "Yeah," he breathed, nodding his head.

A gentle smile appeared on your lips. "Whatever it takes," you said almost in a whisper. Bucky was staring out into the cliffs edge.

"Whatever it takes," he repeated softly.

You finally looked up to him and stood abruptly, causing him to shift his gaze back at you. "If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead," He looked up into your eyes and nodding, a small, barely audible "yeah," escaped his mouth. Both of you looked into the edge of the cliff.

"Then I guess we both know who it's got to be," he said firmly. You looked down and replied; "I guess we do," lightly nodding.

Bucky's hand grabbed your hand tightened his grip on it. You placed your other one on his wrist. His gaze was back on your face before you looked up, still holding onto your hand. He sighed, "I'm starting to think...we mean different people, here." he lightly smirked. "(Y/N)"

Your eyebrows creased. You looked up at him in complete seriousness. "For the last 5 years, I've been trying to do one thing, to get here. That's all it's been about. Bringing everybody back," you leaned closer to him as you spoke, decreasing your volume the closer you got.

"No, don't you get all decent with me now," his deep voice replied.

"What? You think I wanna do it?" you paused for a second. "I'm trying to save your life, you idiot." He shifted slightly holding onto your hand even tighter.

"Yeah well, I don't want you to, how's that?" He replied faster than you'd like. "(Y/N) you know what I've done. You know what I've become." His eyes softening.

"I don't judge people on their worst mistakes," you said overlapping your voice with his. He looked at you with teary eyes.

    "Maybe you should,"

"You didn't," you smiled at him holding back tears. "When you saved me from Hydra,"

He still looked deep into your eyes and shivered. "You're a pain in my ass, you know that?" You attempted to smile but nothing came out of it. You just nodded and he leaned forwards, connecting your lips with his.

The kiss was sweet and forgiving.

    It was a kiss goodbye.

Once you pulled away, a tear had fallen down your cheek. He grabbed your chin and lifted it up, wiping the tear that ran down your face. He exhales and nodded his head quickly. "Okay. You win,"

You, again, tried to smile but only a gentle smile came out of it. Suddenly, Bucky smirked suspiciously and your face dropped. He grabbed your arm and kicked your legs from underneath you. Your body laid on the floor as he pushed you down further into the ground with his hand pushing against your chest. "Tell Steve I'll miss him," He stated.

   No.

You grabbed his shoulder and twisted it, kicking him lightly careful not to hurt him. You pushed him off of you. He was the one on the floor now. You stood up and aimed the tazer you been gifted by tony at him. "Tell everyone I love them," and you shot at him. His whole body started tensing and seizing. You ran towards the edge of the cliff and were about to jump, but Bucky managed to stand up and catch you just in time.

He was holding your arm, your body hanging from the edge. His torso and arm were trying to pull you up but you placed two feet on the end of the cliff. You looked down below you and realised this was it.

"Let me go, baby," You told him softly.

"No," he grunted as he tried to pull you back up. "Please no,"

You smiled at him. This time properly. "It's okay. I love you, James."

"No," he sobbed. You barely let him finish as your feet made contact with the edge. You pushed yourself off of the end and let go of Bucky's hand. "NO!" he screamed on top of his lungs but you weren't there to hear it. You body made contact with the floor, and your head hit the concrete on the bottom.

Bucky sobbed as he looked at your lifeless body until a large cloud surrounded the top of the mountain and everything went black.

    It was okay though.

    Because you did it.

    You saved everyone.

    And he was safe.
