You sat on the couch in the living area of the compound at 2 a.m. not feeling like you could sleep. Your head raced with thoughts as your chest heavied.

Your anxiety for the past 3 months has been unbearably painful. Your chest constantly felt like the ground underneath you was collapsing and the air either felt constantly thick or hurtfully thin. Your lungs felt like they were being burnt with a flame thrower, and your insides twisted with the constant worry for something. Something you didn't even think existed.

Your breath hitched as your mind raced with worries and thoughts of things that made you want to scream.

Go check on Tony because he might not be sleeping again

but wait

don't go because he'll think your annoying.

Go to your room otherwise, the building will collapse

but wait

don't go because you'll accidentally wake the others and they'll think you're annoying.

Your breathing got shallower as you starred at the wall opposite you. Not blinking and your mind racing and your breathing ragged, made your eyes tear up. A single tear escaped your eye, rolling down tickling your cheek gently.

Your breathing caught again when you heard a voice behind you.

"Hey, doll what's up?" The voice got more defined as it approached you. Worry tangled in the person's words.

Bucky entered your view and sat beside you, putting an arm over your shoulder, pulling your head into his chest. "Hey, it's okay (Y/N)," He whispered into your hair. "Anna again?"

Only Bucky knew about Anna.

She lived in your head.

Fed you lies.

Told you things no one could hear but you.

The others would think you were crazy.

No. Insane. If you told them you had a voice in your head telling you secrets no one knew about.

They'd think you're even crazier if you told them you named it.

Her name was anxiety.

Anna for short.
