You wanted sad so I did my best :) 

I sincerely apologise for how many months it took me to post this ;-; And i dont rlly like it either. My words are short as there literally no emotion but here ya go

You smiled when you saw him enter the room, but your smile only remained on your face a mere second before dropping again. You saw Bucky's arm wrapped around the newest Avenger's waist. 

You'd be lying if you said it didn't hurt seeing someone else wrapped in Bucky's embrace. You, for months, wanted nothing more than to be the one who Bucky would kiss goodnight. Or the one he'd wake up to each morning, but he just didn't seem to feel the same. He'd act like a best friend but nothing more. He'd come to you if he had bad days and always made you smile during your bad days. 

That all changed when the the Avenger joined the team. You couldn't even blame him. She was gorgeous. Like Goddess type beautiful and together they looked like the ultimate power couple. You sighed, standing up from your seat and walking towards you room; tears already staining your cheeks. 

-Time skip to a mission- 

You and Bucky's girlfriend were partners for the mission Fury assigned the whole team on. Bucky was with Sam. Steve with Nat and the rest of the team was scattered. 

You and the new Avenger walked alongside each other on the streets. You and her needed to go undercover to try and catch the guy who kept bombing buildings in New York. He already managed to kill 83 people within the span of a day. 

"Right keep your eyes out." Tony spoke through the comms calmly. "We can't have more casualties," You and the new girl exchanged looked, nodding shortly at each other and continuing walking. 

You were expecting the bomber to know where you were going to be and quite frankly it took you by surprise as the buildings beside you exploded into pieces. You looked up and saw a piece of debris falling right at the Bucky's girlfriend. Without thinking, you ran towards her and pushed her out of the way. Not even 2 seconds later did the piece of concrete fall right on top of you, trapping you within the other falling parts of debris. 

You could hear screams over comms but the device was barely audible from where you were laying. Your mind spun and your eyes rolled back, blood basically flowing from your head onto the concrete below you. You couldn't think straight and you felt yourself dropping in and out of consciousness. 

You didn't know how much time you spent below the rubble, but when Steve's and Tony's voices could be heard above you, you managed to open your eyes. The concrete was no longer above you, but moved away as the team stood around you. 

Bucky ran towards you and picked you up, cursing when he saw how much blood was seeping out of your skull. "Get her on the quin jet and to Banner!" Tony shouted into the comms. Bucky complied keeping in his tears. 

You felt yourself being carried by Bucky as he basically ran into the jet, placing you on the surgical table and begging Bruce to do something. Banner instantly started working on your head while Bucky grabbed some antiseptic, pouring it into your smaller cuts. You were still drifting in and out of consciousness. Noises no longer coherent as you groaned whenever you felt water being poured onto your wounds. 

"Bucky it's not looking good," Banner said, stitching your head up. "She's lost too much blood..."

"No. Don't say that." He snapped, tears escaping his eyes but his face remained straight. 

The machine's you were plugged into flatlined and both Bucky's and Bruce's hearts skipped a beat. "We're losing her," Banner informed Bucky who simply grabbed your hand and begged for your eyes to open.

Your head was elsewhere however. Your body felt light as you opened your eyes but all you could see was your own body from a birds-eye view. Bucky was still holding your hand as Banner tried to resuscitate you. You smiled down at the view, even though the love of your life was falling apart next to your unconscious body. 

He could finally be his girlfriend and could be happy. 

And you wouldn't have to watch the person you love most love someone else.
