Chapter 13: First Fight

First Fight

Jessica's POV:

I am desperately in need of help. I don't know what to do. I need someone to tell me what to do. What was the right choice? Jackson seemed to be a person I could ask. Thinking that was a reasonable choice, I decided to call him.

"Jackson?" I hear a laugh on the other side.

"What's the special day? Why did you decide to call me?"

"I....I need help." The other side stays silent.

"What help? Don't you have Elijah? I'm pretty sure he can help." I want to laugh at that comment. How am I supposed to talk to Elijah about the problem that involved him.

"I can't tell him....I need your help.. Please." I say desperately.

"What is it?"

"So....do you remember the day we went to the mall? And I said that I wanted to go to that one college?" He hums in response.

"Well, I got accepted."

"That's nice! Congrats! What part of this do you need help in? Help you with luggage?" I hold a laugh at the last comment.

"I have feelings towards someone and I don't know how to open up to him about this."

"You just go tell him. He wouldn't be mad or anything, what are you scared of telling him?" Honestly speaking, I don't know what I'm afraid of. What was it? I don't know and I can't figure it out.

"I-I dunno. I guess I don't want to leave him. Truthfully, I don't know what's holding me back."

"So you're telling me, you like him and you don't want to leave because of him. But on the other hand, you're accepted into the college you longed to go to. Right?" I nod although he can't see me.

"Yeah."

"I still think you should tell him. It's best to reveal it for him. Don't keep him in the darkness. Even if you don't have feelings, you should still tell him as a friend. He deserves the truth. I don't think it hurts for him to know."

"But he'll be hurt by the fact that he'll be alone again..." The other side is silent.

"It's better to live in the truth than nothing."

"But I've been ignoring him..."

"Tell him everything. It's up to you if you want to confess your feelings. If no, just tell him as a friend that you're going to leave."

"But..."

"Stop hesitating. It's going to hurt both of you."

"Okay... I'll try."

"So you're leaving? When? Can I come? I can come and say goodbye."

"I don't even know you that well!"

"Then we can get to know each other better." I smile.

"Thanks for telling me." I am thankful that he was able to help me. I feel like my mind is more clear and I know that I have to tell Elijah. There shouldn't be anything that's holding me back.

Elijah's POV:

Jessica called me today to meet up at my apartment. I was surprised since she ignored me for so long, but I agreed nonetheless.

Sometimes I think about the curse and I do admit there is a small hope inside me that Jessica is the true one. She was the only one in this whole world that approached me.
