~Ohm's POV~
Home. It's so close I feel as if I can taste it. I step away from the large window and turn back to the beds all holding the severe casualties we had. Stepping between the beds I glance around towards the sergeants, all being treated before we can even arrive at the base, helpful for those who desperately needed help. If anyone is taking the image of the plenty of sergeants laid out in the beds badly, it would most definitely be Gassy who I can't see right now. Ever since everyone was loaded in here he's been busy going around to everybody making amends I've hardly gotten the chance to get to talk to him. Instead I'm just wandering around aimlessly without any real task to do. Maybe I really am just meant for office work considering I've always been a lot more productive in the office, compared to just wandering around aimlessly. Entering the other section of the helicopter I immediately spot Gassy sitting at one of the seats, talking with the other sergeant seeming busy. He immediately glances over at me when I enter and frowns.
"Ohm, sit your ass down they said not to just walk around," Gassy orders and I just look at him and retreat to the room I was in a moment ago. This may be the most rebellious I've ever been just because I don't feel like sitting down. If anything, I feel like walking around because it could be considered a form of exercise rather than doing absolutely nothing sitting down. The men laid in the beds all glance up to me when I walk back to their sides. I doubt Gassy will follow me in here, it's a bit difficult for a captain to enter a room full of your injured soldiers all due to the fact you ignored the warnings and went forward with the mission despite my advice against it. So in reality, if you lead up to whose fault it really is it all leads up to Gassy. I don't really feel like blaming the captain on everything though, especially when I realize it's not all solely his fault and everyone in this helicopter realizes it.
A sergeant suddenly jumps, letting out a small cry and I quickly glance over to him and notice a blur. I look around cautiously but calmly step over to the man and see his wound has reopened. Glancing around I wave over to one of the nurses who hurry over to me and takes over the guy as I slowly step away and keep an eye out. Was it just my imagination? I... I guess it's possible someone snuck on as we were leaving the site in front of the mines but I'd like to deny it as much as I can. Taking a deep breath I decide to keep an eye out but not to make such a big deal. I guess I've left Gassy worried enough, I only left because I didn't feel like sitting still. Entering the room again I notice Gassy sitting alone now, the sergeants he had been speaking to are off on the other side of the room discussing something. Taking this chance I sit next to him, making him glance over at me curiously.
"Done with your rebellion?" Gassy mutters and I just chuckle and look over to him, his eyes sparkling as they look directly at me, not past me or at just the surface. I guess that's something I really love about Gassy, he'll always look directly at you, although he may not understand you he tries to. Even with the blindfold covering my eyes, it's actually pretty amazing he manages to see through it and seems to know exactly where my eyes are.
"My rebellion? That wasn't a rebellion," I laugh and he just shakes his head and looks away, a dark look in his eyes. So he really is being affected by this whole thing, after just watching him get along perfectly well with everybody else I had thought he wasn't too affected by the entire thing. I sigh and slide my hand onto his lap, making him look at me but I just smile, wishing he could see my eyes to see the assurance I'm trying to feed him. Even without seeing he also smiles and covers my hand with his own, tightening his grasp onto my hand.
As we begin the pretty rough landing, Gassy looks out towards the base right next to the opening as I just watch from a distance as the sergeants begin to file down. We're quite a bit away from the actual base but we decided to stay back here a few ways from the base since the base isn't even expecting a helicopter, they may not take it too well. Gassy jumps down out of the helicopter and talks around, helping around the sergeants and I could stay here leaned against the wall watching him forever but another sergeant calls my name back and I turn back, helping with the injured, helping them get down. Once the last soldier is down I glance back and notice Gassy in the distance, talking happily with another man, seeming to be having a good time. We are home at last, everything that happened in the mines stays in the mines I suppose. I almost look away when I notice something odd by Gassy that causes me to hesitate and although I wait a moment, as the realization hits me I quickly turn back and take the shot gun right out of a nearby sergeant.
