~Gassy's POV~

"So where is the fucker?" I raise an eyebrow towards Chilled who smiles widely, stretching out his arms as if he's preparing for a fight. For a moment I'm scared for Nanners' safety with this man performing a sneak attack on him but just one look in Chilled's excited eyes and I know he'll be fine. Maybe a bit exhausted but other than that he'll be a happy man tomorrow. Glancing down at the large calendar on the computer screen I hesitate before giving the information out.

"He's helping some Corporals train right now," I explain and Chilled immediately frowns, seeming displeased with this. "Not colorful enough?" I ask, raising an eyebrow wondering just what kind of entrance he wants to make with his high expectations. His eyes focus on me and he smirks his usual devious grin I'm a bit happy to see once again after all of this time.

"Not diabolical enough. When is his usual bedtime?" At the question I immediately feel as if I should keep the information to myself but his excitement and for the sake of my currently confused friend, I sigh and give it up. Chilled brightens up and his eyes just shine with the endless possibilities and plans. "I'm gonna go check up with the Derp Crew," he calls out before dashing out of the room as I just watch after him. I know pretty damn well he isn't "checking up" on them rather he'll definitely be plotting with them and coming up with his own devious plans. Sitting back in my seat I turn to the screen, now distracted by my own troubles. Paperwork has been hell for the past few days now that I'm retiring early in a few more days and I also have to worry about what exactly will be going on afterwards.

It doesn't help that I haven't heard Ohm's voice in days, nor have I received many texts from him. The texts I do get from him are just simple 'Yes' or 'K's answering the worried questions I continually ask him on an hourly basis. Media wise, people are gossiping like usual and no event has come up requiring Ryan Bella to show up randomly. Many events have been involving Senator Bella, her busy schedule seeming to become busier with every day. Her job is technically of higher position than Governor Bella's, it makes me curious as to why she always acts as if she acts under the Governor. Probably a strange family thing, considering they're forcing Ohm to go through an arranged marriage and highly disliked me, a male for their male son.

"You're going to break your pen," Diction suddenly says and I jump, not even realizing he was in the room with me. I glance down to my pen realizing I was furiously tapping it onto the desk and quickly stop, realizing the ink sinking into the desk from the impact of being repeatedly tapped on the tip side of the pen. Quickly, I wipe at the mark with my sleeve and panic when I find the ink stuck onto my uniform. I hear Diction loudly sigh from the other side of the room and forces me to take off my outer uniform coat and looks at me a bit worried.

"What's your problem today? Lately actually, it's like you forgot how to do your fucking job," Diction complains and I frown, realizing the truth of it. All thanks to Ohm I've just completely been out of it without a single clue what to do without a simple real reply from him. I shouldn't be blaming Ohm, it is my entire fault I can't focus on a damn thing without an answer from my boyfriend and it's pathetic. Taking a deep breath I look down at my paperwork and suddenly look up to Diction who is observing the stain I left on the uniform.

"Diction, I'm being replaced," I suddenly announce and he immediately looks at me, his focus on the stain completely disappearing.

"What?"

"I'm quitting," I explain again and immediately he presses towards the desk, seeming completely annoyed with the sudden and nonchalant announcement.

"Why the fuck- Just why? You're doing a really good job, I was lying when I said you forgot-"

"It's not because I'm no longer good at it, I'm quitting for other reasons. Thank you Diction for everything, I'm being replaced by Nanners," I explain, tapping the pen on the table twice before scratching the tip across the paper filling in the required components, finally starting the work I'd been stalling all of this time. I could have been doing this days ago but just the thought of having to leave... I didn't want to think about leaving the base for good and ponder the possibility never getting the chance to lead these men again. All of these good men, basically my family here and all of my friends. Diction looks at me for a long time, his eyes shifting from confusion to disapproval to plain annoyance and anger and never really settle in any one category. He's angry at me, I understand this and I would be angry at myself too but something is just stopping me from completely forgetting and leaving Ohm to himself in that world. Some part of me refuses to let him just take this all on completely alone.
