Chapter 12 - Suspects

~Gassy's POV~

"Nanners, are you even listening to me?" I question, finally fed up with the man who seems to just be dozing off just to annoy me lately. I understand without Chilled he's a bit messed up and stops paying attention to a lot of things but this is just enough, even in the middle of a meeting. Still, I find myself smiling ironically, as he really is head over heels for somebody for once. I'm glad for him, and glancing over to Ohm right beside him looking down at the table looking bored, I feel glad for myself as well.

"Sorry, uh, yeah. You were talking about how the bomb had added time on itself," Nanners explains calmly seeming bored to death. I'm a bit disappointed he was actually paying attention a bit but I suppose it's a good thing he was.

"Good job, it does seem you were slightly paying attention. Anyways, that the bomb added time on itself means not only do we have a traitor who set the bomb in here, but we have outsiders going against the base. They could have hacked into anything in the building, into files even I can't access. You have to be careful, be wary of everybody. And let it be known every sergeant in this room is a suspect for being the traitor," I announce, causing every sergeant to glance around, searching for the most suspicious in the room. The only two who don't seem affected is Ohm and Nanners who both still seem bored, making me a bit irritated but for Ohm it's to be expected since we pretty much spoke about everything that was going to be in the meeting but Nanners just has other things on his mind which irritates me. Sliding out the phoot of Private Minx Ohm had handed me into the middle of the table, the others seem to view it with interest.

"This is our prime suspect at the moment, high skills in the deceptive category and has been given access to certain files at times. Her sniping skills is very high and she has been seen wearing a scarf around base, likely compared to Chilled's description and meets the criteria to be able to do everything that has been done," I explain, trusting Ohm's advice this girl is likely the traitor. I was honestly a bit surprised Ohm brought out this private's photo, especially because I thought they were good friends having seen them speak quite a bit around base and Ohm even knew her from before meeting at the base. I suppose the fact that he knows about her well makes Ohm's word even more trustworthy though. Pulling out the second photo, I glance over to Nanners who will likely be the most affected by this suspect. I wait for the sergeants to calm down a bit before sliding out Chilled's photo, causing Nanners to twitch like I thought he would and Ohm just frowns at the photo, worried for his friend.

"This is our secondary suspect, though I hate to admit it. Corporal Chilled has been given many permissions into searching our databases and is given much freedom when leaving base, unlike the private. He was the only one who saw the attacker as Diction and Dlive and Sark all only saw the shadow of the attacker. Since I'm his roommate no one can absolutely say he was in bed during the morning of my arrival, and he used to be a part of the creatures squad," I explain, a bit cautious when announcing he was an ex creature and glance towards Nanners who does take suspicion in this. Of course he's reviewed Chilled's report well and there is not a single file on members of the creatures. What does worry me though, is the fact that Ohm just accepts the fact despite the fact I had not discussed this with him. Rather, he doesn't look shocked at all about it which makes me wonder if Chilled shared the fact with him. I guess their friendship is better than I thought.

"So I expect each of you to be extremely wary of these two. Does anybody know where Chilled is staying while on leave?" I ask and specifically look over to Nanners, the one with the best relationship with Chilled obviously. Instead he just seems troubled and shakes his head, obviously not knowing where it is. So Chilled isn't even trusting Nanners. It wouldn't surprise me if he's actually staying with Ze or something and is aftaid that Nanners or I would take it the wrong way if he's staying with a man like that. I'm not sure if Ze is still a creature, but he was Chilled's best friend. It wouldn't surprise me if he left the creatures along with Chilled. Glancing over at Ohm I notice he's almost asleep and a devious thought suddenly boils up in my mind. If he's so bored I should do something to rile him up. Plus, I've been wanting to gloat about being taken in front of the sergeants although Ohm makes it seem like he doesn't want anyone to know for some reason.
