~Gassy's POV~

I shouldn't have yelled so much today. This always ends up happening, someone does something really idiotic and I can no longer hold in my anger and I end up releasing it on everybody. And now I've just realized I terrorized half of the base, including both Chilled and Ohm. Still, I can't help but chuckle when I recall Ohm scrambling through his things and providing every single thing I had asked for. He didn't even tell me he had finished everything, I thought for sure there was something that he hadn't gotten done ahead of time. Instead, like always, he exceeded my every expectation and even followed everything I did like the perfect sergeant. Why does he always have to clearly show that he is a superior sergeant? Sometimes I feel he's even more superior to me and I'm the fucking captain. I guess in this way I feel a bit afraid around Ohm, that at any moment that governor will call just one last time and promote Ohm to take my job. I roll my eyes at my own paranoia, it's impossible. Ohm is too young in this job anyways. I shuffle out my keys and force the door to my room unlocked and open the door silently and carefully.

Like always it's after midnight for me to come home. After terrorizing half of the base I realized I actually had work to do and ended up working all night like usual. I glance over at the occupied bed with red sheets, the Italian shifting and twitching, so obviously not asleep it's painful to watch. It would have been better if I had a roommate whose schedule is closer to my own, like Ohm or Nanners. Not Nanners, if I know Nanners he'd escape from work as early as he can and fall asleep in our room without informing any of us. Stepping forward I glance down at the man, obviously overworked from my abuse. Maybe I should switch roommates, Ohm is better at handling my abuse than Chilled who only makes me more irritated. I press my hand against Chilled's forehead and immediately his eyes open as I feign shock to make him feel better.

"Gassy, this mission you're going on... Is it dangerous?" At this unexpected question I find myself smile, so he really was worried after all. He's always shown it but never really spoken to me about it like Ohm has plenty of times despite him joining me on the mission.

"It will be. But don't worry about me, all of these soldiers have my back. I'm more worried about how you and Nanners will get along for the next week," I complain and although he seems embarrassed he's more shocked than anything.

"Wait... The next week?! Why didn't you tell me you would be gone for so long?!" I roll my eyes at his shocked reaction, feeling a bit annoyed he hadn't bothered say anything up until now, the night before the mission.

"You never asked idiot."

"Oh what will I do without my gassy and very Mexican mom?" Chilled whines and hands onto me, hugging my waist only making me chuckle and pull away, looking into his eyes. He flinches at the sudden closeness but I ignore it, watching him carefully. Is he really that worried after not asking a single question this entire time besides why he can't join?

"You'll do fine. You should go to sleep, you have to wake up early for the new recruits, we like to push them hard. I'll be back in a week," I announce and feeling more encouraged as a mother, peck his forehead. I rise from the bed and walk over to mine just as a loud noise gathers my attention back to Chilled and I chuckle as I find him shuffling through all of his belongings within his drawer. Finally finding what he wants he shifts away from the drawer and stands in front of me, holding out a small figurine directly in front of me.

"Wait, Gassy, a good luck charm. I saw it a while after leaving the creatures and thought it looked like you. I forgot about it 'till now, but it's yours," he explains and I stare at the small sack boy wearing a sombrero with a nice stache. I laugh loudly when I see this, feeling joy before the neighbors next to our room begin to shout. I roll my eyes and kick the wall, yelling for them to calm down and sleep and as soona s they hear my voice they quiet down without another word. Serves them right. I turn back towards Chilled and snatch the small sack boy and smile, nodding.
