Subject: Christmas 2013 Summary
Date: January 20th 2014Christmas was nice. My family actually behaved for once. I got given a lot - DVDs, make-up, iTunes gift cards, socks. As a child I never thought that socks would be my favourite, and most wished for, gift at Christmas. But, I also never thought that eyebrows would be so very important. Being a grown-up is odd to say the least.
What else happened at Christmas... well, I gained about 5 pounds. Mum really outdid herself with the food this year. I think she cooked everything from Jamie Oliver's new Christmas food show. It really was delicious though. We had The Best Turkey in the World (I'm not exaggerating her cooking skill, that's really what the recipe is called), Brussells with Hustle (still have no idea what "hustle" is, but it was yummy. Who knew Brussell Sprouts could have flavour!), Gluten-free Christmas Cake (for Aunt Sally) and of course, your favourite: Mince Pies. It was amazing, and I am still full from eating it all!
The rest of the week we played games, and vegetated in front of the television. My eldest brother, Ben, showed me around the newly converted basement, where he is now living. He has it all decked out - computer with 3 monitors for extreme gaming, 50 inch flat screen plasma TV and a lot of lava lamps, for some odd reason. He seems happier now that he isn't living with that blood-sucking parasite, Carrie. What drove him to marry that woman and father her firstborn child, we'll never know.
Speaking of little Dan, he is 4 now! Not so little anymore. He has developed a love of monster trucks like his Dad, and a love of power like his Mother. Dan, or "little man" as I so affectionally call him, spent the entire holiday shoving legos up his nose and watching Toy Story 3 about a million times. For all his quirks, though, he is a good kid. Its just a shame I don't get to see him more often.
Well, I should stop procrastinating and go back to writing this essay (I feel like everytime I e-mail you, I'm writing an essay. Hmm... maybe there's a reason for that.). I hope you're okay.
Love, Beth x
PS,
Did you have a white Christmas where you are?
