Plans Made

I could barely sleep once we reached the hotel we were staying at as I was so excited to explore the city with Bruce tomorrow. He had told me that he'd give my room phone a call tomorrow when he was ready, and I was terrified I'd sleep through his call. But eventually I couldn't help myself and I dropped off to sleep.

I woke up at nearly seven in the morning, far earlier than usual, immediately getting ready. I pulled on a tight pair of jeans that hugged my hips and accentuated my curves. I made sure I put on the bra that pushed up my breasts the most before throwing on a tight t-shirt and a matching leather jacket along with a choker. I was halfway through doing my makeup when my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked eagerly.

Bruce: Good morning Y/N! You want to grab breakfast at the hotel before we head out into the city?

I felt my heart begin to flutter, cheeks going pink.

"Oh I'd love to!"

Bruce: Perfect! I'll meet you in the lobby in twenty minutes, that work?

"It absolutely does! I'll see you then!" I said eagerly.

We exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up. Unable to stop smiling, I finished my makeup, laced up a pair of black platform combat boots so that I was at least a little bit taller, but of course Bruce would still tower over me. At last I was ready and pulled open the door, immediately smacking into Eric to my surprise.

"Oh! Hi Eric, what's going on?" I asked, trying to act casual.

He gave me a slight frown, looking me up and down.

"Where are you going today?" he asked.

"Oh Bruce asked if I wanted to get breakfast with him and then he said he wanted to show me around the city!" I said nonchalantly.

His frown got a bit deeper before he gave me a smile.

"I'll go with you guys!" he said.

I bit back a curse, returning his smile instead.

"Okay sure!" I said, walking down to the lobby with him.

Bruce gave us a startled look when he saw us.

"Oh hey Eric, I wasn't expecting to see you here."

"Yeah I figured I'd join you guys for breakfast and to see the city," he said, giving Bruce a pointed look.

"Oh, sure, yeah, that's cool," Bruce said with a shrug, giving me an almost sad look.

The three of us sat at the table, eating from the breakfast buffet. It wasn't at all unpleasant, but I couldn't help but dearly wish it was only Bruce and I. To my surprise, Gene walked over, joining us at the table.

"So you guys going out into the city today?" he asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

"Yep!" Eric said cheerfully, giving Bruce another pointed look.

"I'll tag along then!" Gene said, and I felt my heart sink lower.

Bruce and I exchanged glances, sharing our disappointment and frustration without having to utter a single word. Eventually we had finished breakfast and headed outside to call a cab.

"Here I don't want to have to be crammed into a single cab, Eric and I can take another one and meet you there," Gene said, slipping an arm around Eric's shoulders and ruffling his hair fondly before giving Bruce and I a wink.

"Sounds perfect," Bruce said, holding open the cab door for me.

I quickly got in before Eric could protest, Bruce following after me, cheeks tinged a bit pink.

"Oh we didn't tell them where we're going!" I said all of a sudden.

He shrugged, slipping an arm around my shoulders, pulling me against his side.

"Well I guess it's just the two of us," he said with a smile.

My heart nearly melted and I leaned against him, resting my head on his shoulder.

"Well I guess it is. Where are we going?" I asked.

"I was thinking we could see the British Museum? Then maybe just sort of walk around and grab lunch or dinner, maybe have it as a picnic in Hyde Park," he said.

I gave him a warm smile.

"That sounds perfect! I hope Eric and Gene are alright," I said, feeling a slight twinge of guilt at abandoning my brother.

"Don't you worry about them. They're good friends, they'll have fun on their own," Bruce said, giving me a reassuring squeeze.

"I trust you," I said.

He played with my hair again as I leaned against him, soothed by the steady rise and fall of his chest.

"It'll be fun! We'll be having fun and Gene and Eric will be having fun, I promise," he said.

"I'm excited for it! I really am," I said.

I could only hope that Eric wouldn't be too upset that Bruce and I were out in the city alone. After all, it wasn't as if we were dating or anything, so he surely couldn't be mad!
