The doorbell rang and I jumped to my feet.

"I'll get it!" I cried, running for the stairs.

I pulled open the door, giving Eric a huge smile and immediately throwing my arms around him.

"Eric!" I cried.

"Hi Y/N!" he said, hugging me back. "Miss me?"

"Of course I did. You're my big brother, I always miss you."

He let out a sigh, walking into the house with me.

"I know, I know. That's the biggest downside of going on tour," he said.

"Well we could solve the problem by letting me go on tour with you," I said, nudging him.

He gave me a flat look, arching an eyebrow, and of course it vanished behind his curly bangs.

"You know the answer to that."

"But why can't I come with you?" I cried.

"Because I just don't want you getting mixed up in things! It's a busy life and it can get...hm, dangerous, in ways. I don't need you winding up hurt or heartbroken or getting addicted to drugs or something. Mom would kill me if anything happened to you. And besides, I don't want to risk Gene like leering at you and stuff," he grumbled.

"I'm not a child anymore, I'm perfectly able to take care of myself," I said.

He let out a sigh, giving me a small smile.

"I know. But you're still my baby sister! And sometimes it's hard to see you as an adult."

"But I am an adult. I want to see what it's like out there as a rock star! I want to be able to see you at more of your shows, I want to meet your friends in the band and just see how it's like!" I said, practically begging him.

He frowned, looking me up and down.

"I'll talk to Mom and Dad about it tonight. And depending on what they say, I'll talk to Gene and Paul," he said, and I felt my heart leap.

"Oh thank you!" I cried, throwing my arms around him again, so excited I was nearly jumping up and down.

He just chuckled, ruffling my hair.

"Hey don't thank me yet, I haven't said you're able to come. But we'll see."

I smiled, nodding. He said we'll see, which was the closest thing to a yes I had gotten since I started begging to tag along when he first joined the band eight years ago.

"Now come on, I wanna say hi to Mom and Dad. They'll be pissed if I just spend all my time hanging out with you," he teased.

It was so wonderful as always to have him home from the tour. He was only taking a break between the American and European leg so he wouldn't be home for too long, but it was still nice to see him, no matter how long we saw him for.

Our first full family dinner was perfect, it was always nice to catch up with him and just talk about whatever, as he didn't really enjoy talking about the band while he was home. He said that he wanted to keep his work life at work and just focus on family while he was home.

After dinner I started to wash the dishes with him before he gave me a grin, nudging me in the ribs.

"I've gotta go talk with Mom and Dad, have fun washing up," he teased.

"Hey! You can't just leave me with all the dishes!" I protested.

"Oh but don't you want me to talk to them about you coming on tour?" he asked with a cheeky smile.

"That is so unfair," I grumbled, taking over for him and washing the dishes as he headed into the living room.

I could hear the low murmur of voices as he talked to our parents. After what felt like an eternity, Mom called my name. I practically ran into the living room, giving them all a nervous smile.

"You called?" I asked.

"Your brother has mentioned you'd still very much like to go on tour with him," Mom said, and I nodded eagerly.

"Yes! Can I? Please?"

Eric rose to his feet, walking over and crossing his arms.

"No dating my friends, alright? I don't even want to see you looking at them in that way," he said, ruffling my hair.

"So I can come on tour with you?" I asked eagerly, and he smiled.

"Almost against my better judgement, yes. Mom and Dad said it was okay and Gene and Paul said it was alright too. You'll be in your own hotel room but don't think I won't be keeping tabs on you. And you're not allowed to go off anywhere without telling me where you're going. And don't go off getting super drunk or high or anything," he said, giving me a look.

"Gosh Eric relax! I can take care of myself just fine," I grumbled.

"I know, I know. But usually you're not touring with one of the most famous rock bands on the planet. Better get packed sis, we'll be heading out in a week," he said with a wink.

I threw my arms around him, giving him a hug before running over and hugging Mom and Dad too.

"Oh, thank you! Thank you so so much!" I cried. "I promise I'll be smart and make good choices and stuff!"

"Yeah you better, otherwise we'll both get grounded," Eric said with a laugh.

A week couldn't pass soon enough!
