L: Piper where r u?

L: Srsly, where r u?

L: Pipes?

L: I give up.

I had been texting Piper, trying to figure out where she was. She wasn't answering, and I had the sneaking suspicion something was wrong. I tried texting Jason.

L: Hey Jason, is Piper with u? I can't find her.

I waited. That little text bubble popped up at the bottom of the screen. Good, he was answering me.

J: Yes, Piper is with me. We're in the nurse's office.

L: Is everything ok?

J: Sure.

Well that certainly wasn't ominous.

L: Well, when u get out, meet me outside math class. Mrs. Avery gets mad when your late.

J: Mrs. who?

L: Mrs. Avery. Our algebra teacher. U know. Tall blonde teaches math?

J: Oh.

L: R u okay?

J: Sure. Gotta go. Later.

L: Ok Bye.

What was with that guy?

More importantly, what was going on?!

How could Jason not remember our algebra teacher? I knew he had only been here for two days, but come on. She's pretty hard to forget. At least in my opinion.

Oh well. I'd find out what was going on soon enough.

"I'm going to show Annabeth. I'm going to show Annabeth. I'm going to show Annabeth."

My mind was stuck on an endless spiel of one thought. I was going to show Annabeth the room, and the sword, and the Voice.

BRIIINNNGGG.

"Class dismissed."

The second the bell rang, I was up and out of the room. I basically flew down the hall, all the way to the locker room

Annabeth was waiting for me by the door, arms crossed, expression stormy. Her regal gray eyes reminded me of storm clouds giving off a warning: "Don't mess with me."

"Hey," She said when I came up to her. "Care to explain now?"

"Hold on." I peeked around the corner. Thankfully, no one was around. "Okay, let's go."

She followed me around the corner, down the hall, towards the closet. I opened the door and we slipped inside.

"Do you have your phone?"

In response, she clicked on her flashlight. It lit up the metal shelves of supplies, the dusty boxes, and bare concrete walls.

"Why are we even in here?"

I ignored the question and headed for the section of wall that Grover had stood in front of yesterday. The potted plant was back in place. I nudged it aside and tapped the button with my foot.
