Leo
"None then," Chiron looked surprised. "Well that's a first."
"I actually have a question," Piper said, raising a hand slowly. "What are we going to do now? What if Kronos tries to make another move?"
Silence. I could tell Chiron and Lupa were mulling this over. Personally, I had no idea what we should do. I was still hung up on the fact that my math teacher was a living nightmare. I mean, I'd always know she was evil, but this was a whole different level.
"Then we let him," Lupa said. Next to me, Annabeth tensed, and Percy sucked in a breath. Even Chiron looked taken aback.
"Lupa, are you sure?" He asked quietly.
She nodded. "Knowing Kronos, he will try to "make a move" so to speak, when he has a large crowd, or at least, a lot of demigods in the vicinity. When would your next sporting event be?"
"Tomorrow, actually." The centaur replied. "We have a football game against the Yancy Bulls."
"Wait, Seriously?" Percy asked. "The Yancy Bulls? From Yancy Academy?"
Chiron nodded. "Yes, why?"
Percy groaned. "I went there in sixth grade. Horrible school. This game should be fun."
Chiron nodded. "So, you're saying he may try something at the game?"
Lupa nodded. "It is my suggestion that we pair up the demigods. They can patrol the area, and make sure there is no trouble."
This drew confused looks from everyone. "How?" Annabeth asked. "We don't even have weapons."
"Actually I do," Percy said.
"You do?"
"Yeah. That sword, remember? I left it out in the courtyard. Hope the cleaning crew didn't get it." His tone was light, but even I could see he was trying not to get upset. He clearly didn't want to use it again. And why not? Last time he had nearly killed Annabeth with it.
Speaking of the blonde genius, she looked just as happy about the sword as Percy sounded. She was probably hoping he wouldn't turn psycho again the moment he picked it back up. To be honest, we were probably all thinking it.
Chiron gave a large sigh. "Very well, Percy. I only ask that you allow me to inspect it before hand. I would like to be sure it is void of any curses and such."
Percy nodded dutifully. "Sure thing." He stood up and stretched. "I'll go get it now."
"Before you go," Lupa held up a hand-er, paw. "I would like to formulate a plan for tomorrow. We have seven demigods to work with, so I suggest we break up into two groups of two and one group of three. They can patrol the field, school, and parking lot to keep an eye out for any trouble."
Jason raised his hand. "Sorry, But I'm not going to be able to patrol. Coach Hedge said I'll be playing in the game tomorrow."
"Ah!" Chiron said. "Gleason Hedge. I forgot, he is also one of the satyrs we have here."
If Jason was weirded out by the fact that his football coach was half goat, he didn't show it. He just nodded. "Cool."
"Well, now that we have an even number, why don't we do Annabeth and Piper, Percy and Hazel, and Frank and Leo."
Great. I was paired up with the sumo wrestler guy. I glanced at Frank. He looked just as happy about it as I did. Jason just had to be playing in the game.
While I mentally cursed Jason in English and Spanish, Percy got up and left for the courtyard. He returned a minute later carrying the sword like it was a dead skunk. He held it in one hand, as far away from his body as possible. He handed it off to Chiron, who gripped it tightly. "Thank you. Now, after school tomorrow, we can all meet back in my office. Lupa, You, Hazel and Frank can take the Labyrinth to get here. Leo can wait for you at the fountain."
