“What's that?”
Todoroki watched as [y/n] chewed on what seemed like a yummy dessert. She eyed him, “Mochi.”
“Didn't you say you brought a box of those the other day?”
[y/n] stared at the blue sky, remembering the events of that day when she decided to visit the Todoroki manor.
She hummed, “Come to think of it, I did.”
“I didn't get to eat one.”
“Huh. Want some?”
Todoroki nodded.
She grinned and opened the small box full of mochi. She took a red one and held it near his mouth. Todoroki was confused, but when he noticed the sly smirk in her face, he blushed.
“Say, 'ahhh'!”
She slowly draw the mochi towards his mouth but he kept moving away, “What are you doing?”
She giggled, “I'm feeding you.”
“Why?” He furrowed his brows and his face flushed at the way she said that, “There's no need to—mph.”
His statement was cut off when a soft chewy treat bounced into his mouth. [y/n]'s eyes closed tightly with a wide smile plastered in her face, “Awwwee you look so cute!”
To [y/n], Todoroki has always been attractive ever since she first layed an eye on him. The way his hair bounced adorably or when it gets driven by the wind made him look appealing. His grey and blue eyes used to give cold and piercing glares but surprisingly, they became soft when she looks at them. It was as if its aggressive mode automatically turns off when she was around.
That made her think about something.
What if he—no, of course not.
She smiled softly, “You look adorable, Todoroki.”
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHUUUUHHHHH!
Cue 'Renai Circulation'!
Todoroki on the other hand was somehow falling into an extremely deep hole; a hole that he never knew of. He was always at ease when he was with her, it was like he was always not himself when they spend time together. It was crazy 'cause they only chose to befriend each other like a few days ago.
So he really had no idea what was in his heart that kept him from leaving her.
“You should really get going. Your school's sports festival is probably going to start in about two hours.”
The ecstatic atmosphere faded when [y/n] spoke, a hint of worry in her tone. Todoroki just realized it. But instead of worrying about being late, he was despondent. The brighter twinkles in his eyes disappeared in an instant.
“Right,” He mumbled and stood up, dusting off the dirt from his buttocks. He also lend a hand when [y/n] was standing up and forgot that they held hands the whole time when they began staring at each other.
“Good luck there, Todoroki,” She started.
“Hn,” He nodded stoically. She scoffed then smiled, “Have fun. I'll get going now too.”
She was the first to let go and held her hand to her chest. Todoroki glanced at her first before turning around and trudged out of the park. [y/n] first checked his departure before quickly tiptoeing out and off to the streets. Todoroki being gone, she ran to the bus stop with her white skirt flying with the wind. Her thin pastel vest keeping her from getting cold. Her brown boots created satisfying stepping sounds with the bare ground as she got into a bus when it stopped near her.
She took a seat on a few seats behind and eventually started tying her hair into a high ponytail. Then the bus went on to a direction that lead to UA where the sports festival was taking place.
Of course, there was no way she was going to miss it when Todoroki was going to be there.
She stared at the outside world through the window and sighed. Her home where her abusive parents suddenly sneaked into her mind.
Her grin eventually turned into a frown.
She always wanted to avoid realizing that she was never going to escape them. These weeks with her grandma that have been given to her wasn't going to last long. And as always, every year, she'll have to leave Todoroki again without him even knowing she existed in the first place.
‘Todoroki.... right.’, She smiled to herself, then saddened again, ‘Someday, I'll have to leave him again too.’
-
Okay the whole stadium was larger than she imagined. Thousands of people could fit in there!
“Pay attention, audience! Swarm, mass media! This year's high school rodeo of adolescence that you all love—the UA Sports Festival is about to begin! Everybody, are you ready?!”
She was seated somewhere hidden with the cheering crowd. If she were to be honest, seeing teens that were at the same ages as her sounded intriguing. But when in reality, all she really cared about was Todoroki.
She could already see what kind of hero he was going to be in the future. To her, he was always that cold but caring hero who protects people at all times.
But what if she needed his help? What if she needed his protection? What if she needed a hero to save her?
Or maybe she was never escaping the reality she was in—the reality of being two abusive jerks' daughter.
[y/n] pursed her lips.
How can somebody even help her when no one knew what she was going through?
