Well...

Maggie never imagine drinking a cup of coffee with a celebrity was going to be like this. Like you were just going out with an ordinary friend, an exasperatingly handsome friend.  There had been a bit of silence after that small argument that they had just had. It was funny to think that she, a lover of peace, had actually had a fight of some sort with Damian Williams, a man adored by millions of women.

Having been mocked by men before, her older brother included, had made her quite sensitive to their teasing and jesting. She had been made fun of by boys and immature men before, especially back in her school days. And having had that encounter with the actor had brought her back to the time when she could not fight back against the boys who had been unkind to her in her salad days.

"Indulging yourself with wool-gathering?" Damian suddenly spoke, pulling Maggie back from her deep thoughts.

"Sorry about that."

"No worries." the actor replied, taking a sip from his mug.

"This is so awkward..." Maggie whispered.

"Tell me more about yourself."

The dark-haired nurse had to smile at his quick comeback, despite its lack of wittiness. It was one of the things she had noticed about him, he would find a way to lighten up the atmosphere even with the simplest of ice-breakers.

"I can't think of anything to say, actually." She said apologetically.

"You're not one for casual conversations, are you?" Damian commented, looking at her with those clear blue eyes of his.

"I'm afraid I'm not."

"Figures."

That. That was something different altogether. Maggie knew that he was a 'women pleaser,' yet he was behaving quite the opposite when he was with her. In fact, she was wondering if this was the real him, someone who took pleasure in insulting an ordinary woman like her.

"How about you? Is it true that you and Catherine Maybury are dating?"

That took him aback for sure, noting how much his eyes had widened and how his mouth had fallen a fraction at her question. Maggie also noticed the twitching on the muscle just below his left eye.

"I believe that I cannot answer that question."

"You can. You just won't. Why?" Maggie asked persistently.

In for an inch, in for a mile, the nurse thought.

"Okay, moving on." Damian said, his eyes darting to the side where the counter was to be found.

"No, there's no moving on. Answer the question." she insisted, gazing at his emotionless facade.
