It could have been by chance that Damian was able to gaze at those all-seeing brown eyes of hers again. Or he could have just been kidding himself because he was deliberately standing at an alleyway a few paces away from the small hospital, waiting patiently for the end of her night shift.
He had been leaning against the cold hard wall, his leather-covered back suffering from the biting sensation caused by the uneven cement holding the brick wall together. For an hour, the blue-eyed celebrity had been tolerating the pain on his back just so he could meet up with dear Nurse Maggie.
Not that he had any ulterior motive for seeing the plump nurse again. No.
Damian had the feeling that he had to settle some unfinished business with the accommodating nurse from the hospital. For some reasons, he felt like he had the obligation to return the kindness offered to him by anyone he would meet in his lifetime. Nurse Maggie was just one of those ‘Good Samaritans’ whom he owed a lot.
A few minutes later, he was able to see from behind his tinted glasses the slightly round frame of Nurse Maggie standing just outside the door of the hospital. Even from afar, he noticed how chubby her body seemed to be.
The brown-headed lady was not exactly fat, but she was not in perfect shape as well. Perfect shape in accordance to the female bodies Damian was used to seeing in his line of work. Nevertheless, Nurse Maggie was appealing in her own unique way yet he could not point out what exactly was attractive about her. Must be her eyes or her smile. Or something else.
The thirty-something-year-old celebrity stood silently in the dark alley, watching the approaching form of his target. Just when she walked right in front of the mouth of the passageway did Damian make a grab for her.
Covering her mouth with his right hand and wrapping his left arm around her stomach, he was able to take a hold of the struggling Maggie. He forcefully dragged her into the darker part of the alley, quite a difficult task if he were to be asked.
The trembling of her body was not helping either as it had totally made him feel guilty over scaring her over nothing. However, that was the only way that he could actually get to talk with her without drawing the attention of people, fans and especially the paparazzi. At the moment, he had no time to spare for playing with the gossips and meddlers of the entertainment industry.
She was still fighting him off as he pulled her into the backstreet. Suddenly, he felt a sting on his left hand which was grasping her flabby waist. He immediately let go of her out of surprise and he saw her made a run back to the main street.
Fortunately, Damian was faster than the lady that he was able to hold on to her wrist. Turning her around, he was able to notice the fear and vigilance in her darkened eyes. She was panting very hard, most likely from fright and the aggression that she demonstrating against her attacker.
“What the fuck was that?!” Damian bellowed, rubbing the back of his hand that was stung by what seemed to be a needle.
The lady backed off a little, her eyes focusing more on him. Her mouth opened and closed repeatedly, making her look like his pet goldfish when he was still a kid. Damian wanted to laugh at the thought, but he realized it was not the proper time to make jokes with his ‘victim.’ What else could she be hiding in that sling bag of hers that could actually bring him more harm than a pricked skin?
“Mr Williams!” she called out, her eyes widening like china plates.
“Christ woman! What was that?”
“Needle.” Maggie gave a one-word reply like it was the most normal thing to say in that situation.
“Did you infect me with anything at all?” Fuck…shit…”
