Earning her well-deserved holiday, Maggie had decided to stay at home on the first day of her week off. It had been two weeks since she had last seen the handsome actor and not one call or text message had she received yet.

In all honesty, Maggie was not expecting anything out of their interlude in the emergency room yet her subconscious was messing her mind up with the thoughts of Damian Williams, his smart phone and his long-awaited phone call. A realist that she was, she knew that she could not just sit around and anticipate for a call that would never come. Just because it never would.

Turning on her television, she was greeted by the weekly entertainment new program which was currently featuring the specific object of her present thoughts, Damian Williams. Dropping back on her old orange couch, she turned up the volume of the television and listened to what was being discussed about the actor.

‘Yes, Annie. We received an info from a credible source that Damian Williams and his co-star Catherine Maybury are dating.’ The male host, whose name Maggie did not care to know, said.

‘Brilliant! They make such a wonderful pair.’ The woman replied.

‘Indeed, they do.’

Flashing on the screen was a photo of a formally-dressed Damian and a brunette in an elegant black dress coming out of what seemed to be a French restaurant. Maggie’s throat worked involuntarily at the view of the beautiful couple right before her eyes.

The nurse studied the picture and knew right then and there that they made such a wonderful picture. There was a small twinge in a small portion of her heart, but she did not feel too down about how she could never be a match for the gorgeous actress on TV. After all, she was born just the way she was and she could not change any of it. Well, unless she opted for cosmetic surgery.

Which she would not.

Just when she was about turn change the channel, she heard her mobile phone ringing from somewhere inside her small one-room apartment. Jumping off the couch, she panicked in looking for her phone which she had put someplace she could not remember.

The ringing stopped, making her freeze in the middle of her room. Sighing heavily, she started making her way back to the settee. However, her phone rang once again making her turn around frantically in search for the missing phone. Finally, she found the phone vibrating on top of the entry table.

Running towards the table, she picked the phone up and tapped the answer button on the screen. “Hello?”

“Margaret.” There was an unfamiliar voice from the other end of the line.

“May I know who this is?” she inquired quite hesitantly.

“Forgot about me already? Breaks my heart.” The man responded.

“Mr Williams.” Maggie’s lips broke into a small smile.

“Damian.”

“Damian.” The nurse repeated.

Silence hovered in the corner after Maggie’s quick response to the celebrity’s correction on how he wanted for her to call him. Maggie could not point out the reason behind the shiver that had run up her spine. Then again, she admitted that a part of it must have been the deep baritone of his voice that had tickled the ear that had been pressed tightly against her phone’s earpiece.

“Say, you free tonight?” Damian inquired.

“What?” If being surprised had a limit, then she must have already been near it.

“Is my dear nurse starting to lose her hearing?” the man on the opposite end of the line taunted.

“No. Of course not!” the dark-haired nurse answered hastily.
