Seokjin stepped inside the recently opened bakery.

The smell of freshly baked bread and sugar treats wavered in the air, bringing a satisfied quirk of smile on Seokjin's face. He knew he wasn't going to eat any but the smell was good enough. He looked around, searching for the bakery's owner. From what he had heard, the owner was a middle aged man and the bakery was currently open for people to work.

The chairs were all stacked on the table, a set of three on each circular table. The walls were a shade of lime yellow and the tiles were checkered black and white. White lace curtains were pulled back against the glass windows and confectionaries adorned the glass cases, a treat for the eyes if you didn't have money.

"Who are you?" A gruff voice makes Jin stop looking around.

A grumpy looking man with an apron around his body is inspecting Jin curiously. Finding no reply from Jin, he adds on- "Are you here to steal?"

Jin wants to tell him that no one in their right mind would come to the bakery to steal at 7 in the morning on a street where shops and cafes were opening too. But, instead, he decides to tell the actual purpose of his visit.

He takes out the yellow flyer stuffed in his jean's pocket which he had found along with the newspaper. "Sir, I had found this flyer which said that there was a working position open in the bakery and I wanted to apply for it. I am currently in the need of a job".

To be honest, Jin was always in the need of a job. Call it bad luck or his education till high school only but no one job seemed to stick with him for long.

"Are you sure? You are a young man and you have good looks. You can easily go audition for an actor. Why do you want to work in a bakery?" The man asks, eyes resting a bit too long near Jin's lips.

Jin was used to this.

"If I had to audition, I would have. But right now, I need this job. I am short of money, sir". Jin didn't care to tell him that he had auditioned but the son of a famous actor who had zero talent got the role instead of him.

The bakery owner thinks for a minute then nods his head. "As you say. We have plenty of waiters and an efficient cashier. I don't let anyone inside the kitchen to bake. So the only job you would have is to clean the floors and table, wash the dishes and throw out the garbage. You will get a 20 minute break during lunch time. Your shift will end around 5 pm. You can start working now".

Jin bows gratefully and then asks the most important question. "Uh, about the money-".

The grumpy man who had started to walk towards the kitchen, waves his hands dismissively. "Yes, yes, you will get it. As you will be doing the work of two people, you will get twice the money. Start cleaning and arranging, people will start coming in thirty minutes or so". Saying this, the owner disappears inside.

Jin looks at the upturned chairs and the fine layer of dust that had collected over the days the previous cleaner had been absent. Deciding not to procrastinate further, he starts working. Taking out the bucket and mop from the broom closet and filling the bucket with water from the corner faucet in the back area of the bakery, he wets the mop.
