Hello, hello! I was feelin' extra today so I wrote another chappie-chapter. That's all I have to say, so enjoy!

~ 4 months later ~

(Y/N)'s POV:

It has been four months since I left the colony, and to be honest, I might actually kind of like it. No rules, no Pranee sticking her snout in my business, just freedom. However, a huge gap still lies in my heart where Pengu once was. Not saying goodbye to him was the biggest mistake I have ever made, and I still regret it to this day. The sight of his kind, sad eyes is still etched into my vision, and forever will be. Quickly pushing the memory back to the depths of my mind, I try to return my focus to the task at hand. Because the other dragons always kept such tight reigns on my powers, I never really got to use them. But NOW, now I can.

Stopping in mid air for a moment, I take in my surroundings, spotting a small lake in my peripheral vision. Darting over to it, I stop at the edge and look into its icy depths. The perfect, crystal water laps silently in front of me as I admire my reflection. Even just four months has changed me so much. My scales are more vibrant, my eyes are more awake, and I just seem more alive overall. Suddenly, a tiny raindrop falls onto the surface, sending tiny, circular ripples out and away, erasing my face from its watery canvas. Raising my head, I look up to the sky and the minuscule drops of water coming from it. The cloud's tears begin to pour harder, but it doesn't come down to more than a drizzle. Closing my eyes, I focus my energy on the rain. Feeling the magic rush through my veins, I imagine what it looks like; small, shimmery gusts of power.

I feel the force strengthen. It wants to escape. I let it. Opening my eyes, I release all of my energy in one massive wave of white and blue. Every raindrop in a mile's radius halts for a moment before each and every one of them changes before me. Just like that, the water turns to ice and millions of microscopic snowflakes flutter to the ground. One of them lands on my nose and I cross my eyes to look at it. However, before I get the chance, it melts and is absorbed back into me. This is my power; ice. Looking back down at the lake, I realize that it too has been frozen over. Once again, I concentrate my mind onto the ice, picturing what I want it to become in my brain. Closing my eyes hard, I raise my claws. A moment later, I peek at what I have created. I let out a gasp as I stare, wide-eyed at the life-size sculpture of Pengu in front of me.

A single tear rolls down my cheek as I stare into my brother's frozen eyes. "Pengu..." I choke out. "Oh Pengu- I miss you so much!" I scream, letting all of my emotions go and throwing my arms around my brother's neck. He doesn't return my embrace however.... I don't know what I was expecting. Suddenly, the heat emanating from my body begins to warm the ice, making it quickly melt into a puddle of water once again. Sinking to my knees, I cry. Every last drop of sadness pours out of me in one big mess of tears and gasps. Once my eyes have been wrung-dry of tears, I pick myself up and accept the truth: I will never see Pengu again.

Suddenly, something in my heart snaps for a second. My brain takes a moment to recognize the alien feeling, but when it does, I know something is wrong. This is something called 'D̂wy kạn', meaning 'together' in Thai. It is a kind of instinct which only kicks in when a member of your family is in danger. Somehow, my body knows where to go, so I simply let it take me there. Flying faster than I ever have, I soon arrive at the foot of a large hill. I immediately recognize the foul, rotten smell. "Druun." I spit out, gathering up my courage. Quickly but cautiously, I glide up the side of the hill, stopping just before the top to prepare myself, something I shouldn't have done.

Once I finally reach the summit, I see it. Everything seems to move in slow motion as I take it in. Dozens of dragons all turned to stone are scattered everywhere. Behind them I see a huge mass of the purpleish- black smoke swallowing even more of them. However, my gaze is not there, but rather in the center. On the small, stone circle is my family. Amba, Jagan, Pranee, Sisu and Pengu are all there, passing a glowing blue orb between them. The ball of magic finally reaches Pengu and he gives it one last jolt of power before handing it to Sisu with a somber expression.

Suddenly, Pengu turns and his eyes go wide as he sees me. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a cloud of Druun floating ever-closer to him. I want to, but I know there isn't enough time to save him, so instead I do one simple thing. Standing proud, I raise my tail and shape it into the familiar circle. Pengu does the same. A perfect moment of love passes between us, one that would never be able to be broken, before the Druun comes too close. I watch heart-broken as the inevitable happens before me, engulfing my dear brother whole. Once the Druun passes, all that is left is his stone figure, his tail in a loop, his sad eyes, and a peaceful smile on his lips.

Phew! That sure was one sad chapter... Well, hopefully the next one is a little bit happier! (We'll see...) The next chapter should be out in a few days or so, so stay tuned!

Thanks for reading!
