A little girl, a mother, and a father.

A small family, in other words.

The Aiuchi family is a family birthed from a powerful clan long gone during the Taisho era because of a demand for their assassination.

Why was the clan assassinated? The three main clans, namely the Gojo Clan, the Zenin Clan, and the Kamo Clan, were already known to take their spot since the Heian Period. But during the Edo period, a sorcerer who entered the community struck awe from the whole community, as she possessed both a remarkable and strong technique, enough to rival the sorcerers of the three big clans. The Jujutsu Society welcomed her strength despite most clans secretly being against it. And later on, she started a family and her technique was inherited by their children.

With that, their small family started to grow, and by the Meiji Period, their numbers almost rivaled that of a clan. Because of the main clans' displeasure with their sudden growth, they did their best not to grant them positions within the Jujutsu Government, and with their power, this desire of theirs to halt governance running through this forming clan was very effective.

But this clan, despite being granted no power and say within the community, continued doing their noble job as sorcerers who saved people from curses. The unique power they inherited from their clan's original mother was indeed put to honest and good use, and their legacy was only to live their mother's dream of saving people from curses.

Unfortunately, when new heads and higher-ups were assigned decades later during the Meiji Period, they were ordered to be secretly assassinated. One by one, little by little, they were killed, and it was rumored that the hired assassins (who were jujutsu skilled sorcerers themselves), were given a heavenly amount of reward when they killed a member of the family.

Because of the assassination of their relatives, the clan now refrained from letting their children become sorcerers, in hopes to avoid all getting killed. But some of their children were birthed not only with the same unique technique as their ancestors, they were birthed with the same passion for saving others. This, unfortunately, led to the whole clan's demise, and they were known to be wiped away from the face of the earth by the Taisho Era.

All known members were assassinated, but they are still well known even until the present day. Though their assassination was not openly talked about in fear that the powerful clans might accidentally take offense in it, their dignity and their legacy for saving others still live on. At least, they did not die completely in vain and were able to live out their family's desire to birth noble heroes and souls.

A little girl, a mother, and a father; a small family. The Aiuchi was birthed from this clan, after one of the clan's members successfully hidden from the Jujutsu community. They were the ones who did not inherit a technique were advised by their relatives to take advantage of this by running and hiding for their lives.

Recently, the discovery of their connection to the clan sparked a newfound interest in the Jujutsu world. Not only were they surprised that by the investigation, they truly were descendants from the clan, but more surprised after their child of six years was shown to inherit the technique that caused the clan's demise.

Knowing the background of the family, some clans were quick to act, already sending threats to the family after they were once again discovered. Your task in this mission was to protect the family and lead them to a place granted to them by the higher-ups for protection.

"Though they sent specifically the two of you, claiming that you were chosen since you were capable special grade sorcerers, they have two motives. One, they sent special grades to make it look like they were taking action seriously. Let's admit it, this is almost history repeating itself. The clans would not be pleased for their rebirth, so you bet they already have some agreement set in stone with the higher-ups. But because they didn't order for the clan to be killed, and are instead plotting in secret, I can't really do much despite having a say within the community. Their second motive is probably to kill the two of you. You're just kids after all, and killing the two of you out provides them benefits. Yuta could 'kill someone with Rika' and [y/n] is a 'threat to all jujutsu sorcerers' so sending the two of you on this mission would put the two of you at risk as well. They probably gave a bonus reward if they kill the two of you off in the process while also killing the family." Gojo explained.
