i laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

"what made you decide to stay?" timothée asked, still laying on the ground besides me.

i wanted to say you, i stayed for him. but i kept those thoughts quiet, i didn't want him to assume i liked him because i didn't.

"for riley, her room closer to us. in case anything happened." i mumbled, sitting on the bed.

"when did you start caring for riley?" he asked.

"i've always have."

"really? i didn't notice. marcus seemed to be your main focus." he says nonchalantly.

i give him a look, like i wanted to strangle his throat and his stupid unneeded criticism.

"what!" he laughed, " i didn't lie."

"not funny." my face goes blank with no expression.

"hey you're the one who likes him, don't be ashamed." he jokes.

"ha ha ha." i say sarcastically, smacking a pillow against his arm.

"you're lucky i'm nice." he says, he goes to get riley to come into our room. riley wore a big oversized shirt borrowed from libby and she had the biggest but smallest smile on her face, that made my day.

"hi!" she jumps in excitement and goes to sit on the grey fur rug next to me as timothée sits besides her.
"i got a surprise." she holds something behind her back. "hey fate! no peaking!" she gets quickly angry at me.

"oh i'm sorry." my eyes widen.

"yeah fate no peaking." timothée jokes, crossing his arms pretending to act sassy.

"it's a painting i made!" she lays in the middle of all of us on the ground.

"oh wow!" my face brightened. "it's beautiful."

"ta-da." timothée says with a smile. "who's that?" he questioned pointing at the messy brown hair figured with a white shirt.

"that's timothée, fate, me, and libby!" she smiled. "family number two!"

"family number two." i smiled uncomfortably.

"fate." timothée lowered his face at me. "let her have her moment."

the painting showed her between both timothée and i holding hands while libby is besides me. we all had a smile on our face.

the messy outlining and overused of paint makes the painting so much better. adding so much perfection to it.

"what is that scattered on the ground?" i look closer seeing it was colors broken into bits. but i couldn't tell what it was.

"candy." she says.
