"riley let's go kid." marcus say, grabbing their belongings, riley runs over to hold my hands. i don't say much to marcus instead i glare him up and down and walk away.
we walk past another train stop that wasn't to far from us, but the train was broke down and ruined. nothing left, just shattered glass and brown engines. it was unsafe to use.
"fate." marcus says quietly.
"what."
"i'm was just going to ask if you needed help—holding your stuff." he mumbled.
i give him a weird look. "i can do things on my own."
"i was just—" i cut him off from talking.
"yeah yeah yeah—i get it. and simply the answers no." i smiled, holding my bags before walking away.
riley kicks small pebbles of rocks over as she continues to walk with us. "who knew fairmount haven would take this long!!" she sighed. timothée walks ahead of us and he continuously looks back to only see if riley was okay.
i looked at the ring timothée made for me out of spoons, i thought about throwing it on the ground. stomping on it and no longer having it around my finger. but i kept it. i don't know why, i just did.
"riley come." he gestures her over to walk besides him, that left me and marcus behind.
i glance over at marcus as we both catch eye contact, quickly looking away. i hated even looking at him, i hated him more than timothée. just the sound of his voice made me want to scratch my ears out. he was indescribably obnoxious, he could do nothing and it would crawl under my skin.
me and marcus never loved each other, it was like a middle school crush, it wasn't true love and sure as hell didn't last long. our feelings are long gone and were mainly built off boredem. there was entirely no true connection.
once a liar, always a liar.
i will not forgive him for killing griffin.
he was drunk, he served time in jail but still
he didn't tell me.
he knew i loved griffin.
how could someone be so cruel into hiding such a huge secret.the sound of commotion slowly appears from a far and comes closer as we walked further. timothée stops us from moving and we walked further away from it, but the sound kept following us it's like we couldn't escape it.
the noise and movement of something being dragged around and heavy breathing.
i turn back to see what it was. squinting my eyes to get a better look and coming from up the hill was one of those killing machines.
his eyes were budging with blood, his clothing was cut and slit. almost like someone tried to kill him but failed miserably because he was still alive.
he sees us and runs faster.
i turn riley around knowing timothée had it in check. he pulls out his gun and shots him from a far distance in the head, the body drops onto the ground and doesn't get back up.
marcus and i calm down riley's crying. she was terrified by the sounds of gunshots, it reminded her too much of the time i almost died. she was traumatized now.
"it's okay riley!" marcus tries to soothe hers. i run my hand through her hair and kneeled on one knee to wipe her tears.
"it's fine, we're all okay." i whispered quietly, kissing the top of her head.
a loud movement causes all of us to turn around, timothée was caught off guard when those killing things came out from the sides of the woods, it held a knife and was ready to kill all of us.
i rush over to timothée. i pushed the killing machine onto the ground but as it fell down; the man slits the inside of timothée hand.
timothée shots him.
"timothée." i mumbled, i began to feel an extreme amount of heat run down my spine as i watched him look at his hand bleed. the blood streams onto the ground, he quickly pats it down with the side of his pants.
"i'm alright, we keep going." he says.
"we have to stitch it up at least!" i was worried for him.
"i will once we get to fairmount." he ignores it.
"timothée please!" i begged.
but he continues walking.
—
the was the last house we were suppose to stay at, it took nights and hours of walking to get to fairmount.
tomorrow would be the day we arrive there. tomorrow we will have safety. tomorrow we will see other survivors like us.
i sit on the couch, just thinking of the thought of a new life. once this day was over we would be at fairmount.
the random abandoned house we were at was dark and quiet just like the other place, we needed to stay here till morning because it was hard to see at night. spiderwebs on the side of windows and in the corners of rooms. something that looked straight out of horror film. by far the worse house we've been in but i didn't complain.
timothée was upstairs searching the house to make sure nothing was there, he insisted and say he didn't needed help.
but i was going to go up the attic so if he was okay.
i walk upstairs and took the steps that appear on the ceiling and walked to the attic. i see timothée, his flashlight began to flicker in the dark room.
"timothée." i whispered getting his attention. he looks over at me and nods his head.
"i'm okay. quit worrying." he mumbled.
something across the room startles me but timothée runs over to check and there were nothing. i assumed something must've fell down so i turn around and head back down the steps. i figured timothée would be okay.
the sound appears again and i turn to look and the killer things were face to face with him, fighting him with a knife trying to go through his heart.
the killer was all bloody, filled in her own blood, eyes white and decayed. her skin was milky pearl, she holds onto timothée hand, the one that was slashed and cut, while her other hand tries to stab him with a knife.
but he doesn't really struggle and he simply shots her, she falls onto the ground, her hand flinches one last time.
