Part 23 || an old feeling

Jake's POV

Jay: "we need to talk" I was surprised with how serious he was so I let him in and gestured to go up to my room. I closed the door and we sat on my bed waiting for him to talk

Jay: "ok, this won't be easy telling you and I don't want you to freak out because it's totally messed up and I agree" I tilted my head and scrunched my eyebrows together

Jake: "is something wrong? You seem like the one that's freaked out..." he sighed and faced me then looked forward again

Jay: "my sister..." my breathing suddenly became stiff when he said that "she- she's... alive" I backed away and looked at him while sarcastically chuckling

Jake: "wh-What? J-Jay, are you serious? she's dead ok? Wh-why would you even joke about that" I stood up upset with him. Why would he say that so easily? I rushed to the door but stopped when he started talking

Jay: "it's true, she's in her room enclosed by my parents" I let go of the door handle and turn back around "she never died, my parents only faked it to get Sunghoon out of the picture so that you two will get married" my mouth dropped open and I started tearing up as I sat down beside him "your parents are part of it, they planned this together and they said if I don't help wed you guys my parents will bring y/n to the States and your parents will probably send you to the States together with y/n"

Tears were running down my face and I just had a blank expression with my mouth wide open

Jake: "s-so you're saying th-that y/n is a-alive"

Jay: "yes but that's-" I hugged him right away and cried

Jake: "I don't care about that we'll figure it out somehow but I'm just so happy y/n is alive" I tightened my hug and pulled apart

Jay: "but there's one problem..." I tilted my head waiting for him to continue "she has amnesia"' I slumped down on the bed devastated once again

Jake: "what?"

Jay: "she was too traumatized during the fire but the doctors said she'll regain her memory if we slowly open her up to familiar things but my parents are against that"

Jake: "why don't we do it secretly? Like we'll show them that we're trying to get y/n to like me but we're actually slowly opening up the things she forgot about?" He nodded

Jake: "when can I see her?"

Jay: "I'll let you know ok? Maybe not now since she's just recovering" I was kinda sad with the news but I understood

Jay's POV

I stood up and hugged Jake goodbye.

I knocked on y/n's room and I heard a faint 'come in' I entered her room and found her on the floor with her legs folded admiring her skates. She looked up at me and smiled brightly

Y/N: "oppa, who owns these skates? They're beautiful!" I chuckled bending down beside her

Jay: "you know you don't have to call me oppa, but anyway they're yours" she gasped loudly and hugged me

Y/N: "can we go to the ice rink? I wanna try them out!" I nodded and she rushed to the bathroom changing her clothes. I packed the rest of her stuff and I heard a metal clank. I lifted the bag and I saw her medal. I wanted to show it to her but if I do I'm scared I'm pouring too much information to her too soon.

Jay's POV

We arrived in the ice rink, where y/n and Sunghoon had their competition. I brought her here hoping this place would seem familiar to her but it didn't seem so

Y/N: "I'm gonna go ahead ok?"

Jay: "alright, I'll just be sitting here" I sat on the bench and she entered the rink

Y/N's POV

I hopped on the ice and glided towards the middle. This feels amazing!

Y/N: "Jay-ah look!" He smiled giving me a thumbs up. I giggled and slid smoothly on the ice just doing random movements. I closed my eyes and moved across the ice but the movements I'm doing seem oddly familiar. Like it's a routine. I brushed it off and opened my eyes feeling the breeze across my face. This felt amazing, it felt like meeting an old friend again, but something was missing. I was having fun and I felt so at peace but there as something missing, I just don't know what it was.

Jay's POV

*on the phone*
Jay: "yeah we can meet up in the park later"
Jake: "alright see ya"

I hung up the phone and placed it in my pocket.

Y/N: "Jay-ah, I'm done already. We can go home" she had a smile on her face while holding onto her skates

Jay: "ok but let's pass by the park first. We're gonna meet a friend" she followed behind me curious

Y/N: "do I know them?"

Jay: "I don't think you do" she pouted and we just giggled. As we were walking she kept smiling while holding her skates but she kept frowning too "why do you keep smiling and frowning? Didn't you have fun?"

Y/N: "yeah but- I don't know *sigh* skating felt like meeting an old friend. It felt really good but then, something was missing. I didn't feel the full experience. The thing is, I don't know what it is" I nodded looking forward knowing the answer to her question

The thing that's missing y/n, is Sunghoon
