"have fun." langa said watched reki smile and walk to the elevator.
langa sat down for a bit and perfect timing, his mom came.
"how are you feeling?" his mom asked and langa shrugged his shoulders and his mom sat in the chair reki was sitting in.
"you can eat in front of me mom." langa said and his mom smiled and grabbed langas hand.
"i know, i'm not hungry." his mom said and langa nodded. "i'm going to head on home, don't stay out here all day like you always do." his mom said and langa nodded.
his mother came over to his side and gave him a hug and he hugged her back.
as soon as she left langa got up and walked to the elevator and decided he was going to go up to his room.
langa exited the cafeteria and walked down the hallway until he was face to face with the elevator door. he pressed the button and the doors opened and he stepped in.
langa looked at the buttons and thought about reki's statement about how they were so weird yet so cute and langa laughed to himself as he pressed bedroom seven.
the elevator took him to his floor. the ED ward. he stepped out of the elevator and walked down his hallway and entered his room.
unlike reki, langas room wasn't in front of the nurse desk. it was about four rooms away from the desk and was the last one in his hall.
langa opened his door and closed it behind him. he then laid in bed and grabbed his laptop as well.
"Pulmonary, meaning lung, and fibrosis, meaning scar tissue, basically means exactly what the name translates to: scarring in the lungs. Beyond the problems scars present, pulmonary fibrosis impacts how you breathe and get oxygen into the blood."
"gosh." langa let out and he continued reading but when he came across a certain piece of information his heart stopped.
"There's currently no cure for pulmonary fibrosis (PF). The main aim of treatment is to relieve the symptoms as much as possible and slow down its progression. As the condition becomes more advanced, end of life care will be offered. It limits life expectancy with a general survival range of 2 to 5 years."
langa kept reading and he read that sometimes people live longer than the expected years and he hoped so bad that reki would live longer than what was expected of him.
langa grew frustrated and shut his computer and put it on the table hovering over his bed and laid on his back. he sighed and let the air out of his mouth and for a second he felt guilty that he was able to breathe properly knowing reki couldn't.
"knock, knock." a nurse said and langa sat up and smiled.
"hi shins." langa responded and shins smiled and walked over to him.
"so i know your momma ain't here but your doctor is here and she needs to talk to you." shins said as he placed his hands on the edge of langas bed.
"okay that's fine. i'll fill her in, in the morning." langa said and shins drummed his fingers on langas bed and walked away.
"you're the best, kid." shins called out and langa smiled as he saw shins move out the way and let the doctor through.
"hello langa." the doctor said as her hills clinked on the floor.
"hello." langa said as he sat up straight displaying the manners his mom taught him.
"so i have some urgent information i need to share with you." the doctor said and langa gulped a little, his esophagus burning from the thick tube as he did so.
