Chapter 35

Mohit's POV

They reached our table before I could think of anything.

" Hi, Mohit !! Oh my God! I could not believe my eyes when I saw you." Charles said.

" Hi, Charles... Maria. How are you? "  I smiled politely.

" We are good... But what about you?? We are meeting after so long. What happy days those were... when you, me and Robin... used to hang out together. Then you both got busy. We should meet more often. For old times sake... I miss both of you. " Charles said with a wicked smile.

" Yeah... But I got very busy. " I wanted them to go away as soon as possible. I was not feeling good.

" Yeah, can see that... won't you introduce your friends to us?? She is very beautiful. " He said looking at her with his lustful eyes.

I was getting very uncomfortable and wanted to punch him for that. How dare he look at her like that??

I looked at Srusti, she was looking at me with curiosity. What was she thinking?? I hope she doesn't guess anything.

" I missed you, handsome. So, nice to see you with a girl finally. I hope that now you would be more interested in meeting me. "  Maria came very close to me and was about to kiss me when I turned my face. Her lips landed on my cheek.

What the hell !!

My eyes went immediately at Srusti. She was a bit surprised but looked away the moment I looked at her.

" Well, though your companion looks like those very boring, good girl types, I think she must be really good, to make you change your... Mind. Don't you think Charles?  " Maria said looking at Srusti.

" Yeah, absolutely !! She must be... and I am eager to try and find out myself.  Will you do the honour of introducing us or shall I help myself ?? " Charles said.

" No, she is not, who you think she is... She is my friend. Stay away from her.  "

" Oh, friend !! Just good friends... I was not born yesterday, handsome." Maria said sarcastically and Charles nodded.

" It's ok Mohit, I won't tell anyone that you were sharing a meal with a very beautiful girl. " He said with a smirk.

He was smiling wickedly, Robin chose me over him and he never got over it. He kept trying to persuade Robin to be with him. But somehow, all Robin wanted was to be with me. Since then, he is having grudges against me. Now he got a chance... 

"  My parents wanted me to meet her. So... " I said but got annoyed with myself. Why was I explaining to him ??

But I didn't want him to tell anything to Srusti or Robin.

" Oh, so you are meeting girls... Planning to finally get settled with a nice girl?? By the way, does Robin know about all this?? I mean he is so important to you, you must have told him about all this... " Charles said looking at Srusti again.

Was he giving me a subtle hint that he would tell him?? Of course, I knew what he was trying to do. He would call Robin and tell him that I was planning to get settled and Robin would create a scene.  No, I could not let them spoil my family's happiness.

" Yeah !! And that is strictly between me and him, you stay out of it. "

" Chill Mohit!! Why are you getting hyper?? Enjoy your lunch. Bye, beautiful... By the way, I am Charles, Mohit's friend. He must have forgotten to tell you about me and Robin. How convenient, Mohit... But let me tell you, we have been close. Extremely close. " He said to Srusti and extended his hand towards her to shake it with hers.
