Into the Storm

Chapter Four

The rainy car ride made Taylor feel sick and she needed Jake to pull over.

"Taylor," Jake said, "we can't stop for any reasons." he pushed the gas pedal harder and they were going 75 mph.

"Jake do you really want me to puke it your car!" Taylor yelled.

They started to scream at each other like brother and sister or husband and wife. Though, they weren't either...

"Guys shut up!" Dany yelled. "This argument isn't going to get anywhere!" We're three hours away from East Ravenflake and we have to get there as soon as possible!"

She unbuckled her seat beat and climbed in the back with a fuming Taylor. She dumped one of the grocery bags on the car floor and handed it to Taylor.

"There." she said and climbed back into the passenger seat. "Do your business in there." she stated, in her matter-of-fact tone.

Dany buckled her seat belt again and sighed. If they were going to get past this tsunami, they had to be on the page, together.

An hour went buy and everyone's stomachs were growling very loudly.
Taylor picked up a granola bar and unwrapped it.

"Do you guys want an granola bar?" Taylor asked. "It's the strawberry-"

"We know we were the ones that bought them." Jake cut her off.

"Well do you want one Mr. Angry Pants?" Taylor spit at him. "They're good."

"I'll have one-" Dany was about to reach for one.

"No." Jake said. "We should save the food, it's all we have."

Dany pulled her hand back and looked at Jake with concern. "Were gonna be okay Jake." she said and put an arm on his shoulder.

"Open my laptop." he said to Dany. "There should already be a weather scanner up on the screen."

Dany opened his laptop and like he said, the weather scanner was up. There were a bunch of calculations that didn't make sense to Dany.

"I don't get any of this." she threw her head back, wanting to disappear. "Can we please move to like the North so we don't get tsunamis or tornados?"

Jake smirked at her. "But then this would be any fun." he laughed.

"Jake really, what does this stuff mean?" Dany looked confused as she saw dark blue swirls move across Ravenflake, getting closer to were they were.

Jake looked at the screen and his face went pale. He quickly stepped on the gas pedal without saying another word.

"Jake what's going on?!" Dany asked him.

"Give me the laptop!" Taylor yelled getting a adrenalin rush from the speed.

Dany handed the laptop over to Taylor and Taylor face emotions changed rapidly, like the car moving.
She turned her head around and saw mountains in the background.

Even further away, where none of them could see, a gigantic wave, destroying anything it touches got closer, and closer.
