Chapter Eight

Jake dropped Dany on the ground and ran towards Taylor.

"Taylor!" he screamed and picked her up.

She groggily lifted one eye and frowned.

"Jacob put me down." Taylor mumbled and rubbed my eye.

Jake smiled and carefully laid her down against the tree.

Dany got jealous butterflies in her stomach. Which she shouldn't, she thought, because she doesn't know him.

Jake's facial expression shifted as he saw scars and bruises all over Taylor's body.

"Your hurt." he said, "Your ankle..."

He cringed looking at the misshaped ankle.

"We have to get you to the hospital." he said quickly turning around, remembering Dany.

She was limping away towards the log that they sat at earlier.

"Stay right here." Jake said looking at Taylor, "I'm going to get your sister."

Taylor looked shocked, and quickly looked to see Dany rubbing her arm and sitting on the log.

Jake slowly walked over to her.

"Please just go away." she said face in her hands.

"Dany..." he paused, "I need you to trust me, okay?"

She looked up at him with tears in her eyes, not spilling out though.

"I c-can't-"

"Please," he took her hand in his, "I'm your best friend." he smiled and dragged her over to Taylor.

He motioned to Taylor not to get up or say anything.

"Dany," his eyes traveled over to Taylor, "this is your sister...Taylor."

"Dany I'm so happy your okay!" Taylor couldn't hold it in.

She limped up and grabbed Dany into a warm hug and Dany stood there shocked.

"I'm so sorry for what happened in the car, I didn't mean it and I'm sorry! Please forgive me I don't know what-"

Dany put her hands in the air.

"Stop it!" Dany yelled.

"Dany I know your still mad but-" Taylor chatted on like they weren't just crushed by a tsunami.

"I don't know who you are!" Dany yelled.

Taylor took a step back, which lead her to falling on the ground.
She looked up and her emotions changed.

"You know what Dany." Taylor got up and stood face to face with her,
"I don't take it back. I know what I said was rude, but guess what? I meant it. You and Jake aren't going anywhere. You should just move on before he has to tell you. But I can't believe you would pretend to not know me!"

Dany didn't step back.

"Well here's an idea." she nudged Taylor back. "Maybe I actually don't know who the hell you are."

Taylor fell silent and looked at Jake.

"She doesn't remember me either." he scratched the back of his neck.

"Your kidnapping me!" Dany yelled.

Jake had her over his shoulder, and was helping Taylor walk by holding her hand. They made it to the front of the hospital and everyone was staring.

"No we're not." Jake said, mostly talking to the nurse and not talking to Dany.

"She doesn't remember us," Taylor said to the doctor, once they got in a room together, "I don't know why though, I'm her sister and this is her best friend." referring to Jake.

"I'm gonna have to take some x-rays." the doctor said. "You two have to go."

Jake and Taylor left the room and parted way into other rooms.

It's like they were all leaving each other.
