We finally reached the kingdom of Arabasta, to the port town of Nanohana. Luffy was starving so he ran off on his own to eat food. He arrived at a bar, and ended up knocking Portgas D. Ace and Captain Smoker into the wall. After the two managed to get themselves out the wall, Smoker started chasing Luffy in anger. Luffy ran away to protect his meat. Smoker managed to chase Luffy all the way over to where the rest of us were buying supplies. Ace blocks off Smoker though so we all ran off to our ship.

Back on our ship, Luffy mentioned how that was his brother that saved them. Ace came aboard after that.

Ace: "I apologize for you all having to deal with my brother. Thanks for looking out for him. I've got some stuff to do, so I'm going to head out now. Take this."

He handed over a piece of paper, which I knew to be his Vivre Card.

After that he got on his cool flame powered boat and blasted through a bunch of ships with one fire fist.

Hmm, if Ace is still chasing Blackbeard, then maybe the execution arc will still happen. Oh well. With my [Hide and Seek], no matter where Kuma sends us I can pull us together this time when Luffy tries to save Ace. Worst case scenario I'll give him the Locke treatment. I made a short trip, disguised myself to look how I did when I saved Roger, and told Roger to not intervene in Ace's execution if it happened. I told him that worst case scenario I'll save Ace the way I saved him. I don't really want to expose my ability to bring people back to life (although I never really resurrected them), and Roger showing up there would do that. He reluctantly agreed, saying he understands.

We ended up sailing to Sandora River, and encountered some Kung-Fu Dugongs. They challenged us but Luffy knocked them out. Afterwards they wanted to become his apprentices, but Luffy didn't really want to take them. Chopper bribed them with food so we left. Afterwards, we journeyed through the desert. On the way, we ended up killing a giant lizard, and also ended up temporarily recruiting a perverted camel named Matsuge. When we arrived at Yuba Oasis, we met an old man named Toto, who was struggling to find water in the hopes that he could revitalize the town that was buffeted by sandstorms. We also learned how Toto's son Koza was Vivi's childhood friend, and now the leader of the Rebel Army. Eventually Luffy convinces Vivi that we should go fight Crocodile at Rainbase, which was Baroque Works' headquarters, instead of confronting the rebels. So, we headed towards Rainbase.

Eventually, we reached Rainbase and encountered Smoker and Tashigi. While on the run from the marines, we ended up being surrounded and captured by Baroque Works and thrown into a seastone cage. Only Sanji and Chopper got away. Sanji managed to deceive Crocodile into coming out of the casino. While Chopper distracted Crocodile, Sanji managed to free us along with Smoker and Tashigi. Smoker and Tashigi decided not to chase us for now since we saved their lives, then Chopper grabbed all of us and we headed towards Alaburna.

On the way, Crocodile catches up and tries to kidnap Vivi, but Luffy ends up being taken instead. I told the rest of the crew I'd heal him up if he suffered some injuries, and followed after him. After that, I saw my captain face off against Crocodile. Even with all his training he still hadn't learned Haki yet, so it was a pretty brutal beatdown of Luffy. I didn't interfere though, this was his fight. Crocodile sent a sandstorm towards Yuba, and left Luffy to die. After he left, I dispelled the sandstorm before it would reach Yuba, and used [Crazy Diamond] to fix Luffy up.

Y/N: "Do you understand now? Why I've been giving you all this hellish training? Crocodile is pretty weak as far as most logias are concerned. There are countless dangers far worse than him ahead of us on our journey."

Luffy: "You're right. I always hated training. It felt like such a chore. But as I am now, I can't protect my crew like this. We all have to get stronger."
