Ch.1 New world

~Y/n pov~

I was in the convenience store with Subaru. He was reading a magazine and muttering to himself.

Reaching up, I grabbed some noodles and some crisps and threw them into the basket.

Subaru rubbed his eyes and yawned, before putting the magazine back and taking the basket from me.

He went over to the counter to pay, while I trailed behind him.

After he payed, we both walked out of the convenience store.

Subaru paused and stared into the distance, he appeared to be in a trance.

I tugged on his sleeve, "Subaru? Are you okay?"

After a few moments, he snapped out of it and tilted his head slightly down to look at me.

"Yeah I'm fine." He smiled tiredly, patting my head with the hand that wasn't holding the bag.

I yawned, blinking tiredly.

Subaru took his hand from my head and grabbed onto my hand, "Let's go."

Before we could set off, everything started blurring and fading.

As I blinked again, I noticed we were somewhere entirely different.

Some sort of fantasy world?

We both looked around in confusion.

"What's going on?" Subaru asked.

I stepped closer to him.

"Come on." Subaru pushed me forward to make me start walking.

After exploring for a while, we found ourselves sat on some stairs in an alleyway.

We couldn't read and we didn't have any money.

I sighed, "We'll get nowhere like this."

Subaru nodded, "And where's the cute girl that summoned us?"

At the sound of footsteps, we both lifted our heads as three people approached us.

"If you don't wanna get hurt, cough up whatever you've got." One of them growled, grabbing Subaru by the collar.

"Let him go." I glared at him.

"And what if I don't?"

I grabbed the man's hand and flipped him onto the floor.

The short one went after me and I aimed a kick at his head, knocking him to the floor.

"Y/n!" Subaru yelled.

I turned and was met with a fist. I had forgotten about the last guy.

The world then faded to black as I was knocked unconscious.

I slowly opened my eyes to see purple eyes staring right back. I almost screamed in shock but I managed to keep it in.

A girl with silver hair was peering down at me, when my eyes met hers, her face lit up.

"You're awake."

I turned my head on the soft thing beneath me and that was when I realised... I was on a cute girl's lap.

Subaru was standing a few feet away. I sat up and looked next to the silver haired girl, there was a....giant cat?

"Well since you're of no use to me I'll be going." The girl turned and started walking out of the alleyway.

Subaru grabbed my wrist and ran after the girl pulling me after him.
